Redraft league, we can keep up to 8 players.  My current squad is:  Rodgers, Spiller, Helu, Andre Johnson, Jennings, Britt.  We start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs/TEs ... touchdown heavy league.  I am leaning towards taking the deal b/c I need an actual starting RB - lol ... just curious what others think?

I'd be getting SJax though ... Britt's on my roster.  I'm with you though, who knows when he'll see the field this year.
  • You do need another RB but is there anything better than SJax that you think you could move Britt for?

I wish there was .... but nobody wants to make moves in this league, and not too many people are wanting Britt.  I might shop him around with Helu for an upgrade ...

I'd take SJax by a wide margin here
    2013 Predictions:
-Jay Cutler will not be a starting QB in the NFL after 2013
-Matt Forte will have the best season of his career in 2013
-Trent Richardson will exceed 18 total tds in 2013

in a redraft league could you possibly get any more for britt?...he's gonna miss some games...i feel what little value britt has left would be further down the road...jackson barring injury for just this season should be very solid...id jump

I asked the question to determine if there was any other options for him other than SJax.  This is a 8 player keeper redraft and I would want to try and acquire a RB with more longevity than SJax if I was moving a young WR in Britt.  I realize you don't care much for Britt but moving him for an aging SJax might work for this year but what about next year and beyond?  Not a move I would make.

  • i hear ya doggie...i guess for me the key piece of information is that he can keep "up" to 8....so he can ride jackson as a solid #2 rb for at least this year and then if the wheels fall off get an early pick for him and not lose out too much...acquiring a solid one year rental to get out of the "how are britts knees?"...and..."is he still the future in tenn?"...and more importantly "can he stay out of legal problems?"...he's missing games this year we all know...he gets popped again which is very very possible he might be looking at missing 8 plus games...

Thats my mind set as well .... SJax was a solid RB2 last year in this league (TD heavy, so he gets a slight downgrade), and I don't have one starting RB (high on Spiller, but that may take a year still).  I know Britt is young, uber talented ... BUT, I'm worried about how long he gets suspended this year, and like you said - next time he gets pinched, could be out the majority (if not all) of the season.

Thing is ... if I make the move, then I'd have to be pushing for the trophy this year ... so better question may be (without posting other rosters), would: Rodgers/SJax/Spiller/Andre/Jennings ... plus 4 of the first 25 picks, be enough to get it done?  Decisions ... decisions.
  • well if those 4 picks were picks #1...#2...#3...#4 and say yes.... :D

  • Where are those first 4 picks N_Diddy?  Could make a difference in the opinions you get here.

lol - good point, shoulda clarified, picks 10, 16, 17, 25 ... not the cream of the crop, but there are some good FA options out there for me.
  • What RB's or WR's do you think would be available for you with the 10th or 16th picks?  Do you already know who's being dropped from the other teams?

Yeah - started really researching today:  Garcon, DThomas, Collie, Hernandez, VDavis, JFin, MWilliams, Little, Collie, Baldwin, Hankerson (there are a few others too) ... plus all the rookies.
RBs:  Ridley, BJGE, D Brown, K Smith, Royster, Wells ... are probably the best FA RBs.

I'm hoping to grab DThomas at 10, and maybe MWill or Collie on the flip ... depending on what RBs are there still at 16.

Have all of these guys been dropped already or are some of them available for trade?  I still don't care for the Britt for SJax deal and there is definitely some potential player options sitting here in your draft.  If you are that worried about Britt, I would wait to move him after your draft so there are more options for you.  You could easily get any three of the players listed above with your top 3 picks.

This was the first year we switched up to the 'keep up to 8' option ... so a lot of owners just dropped people, which is too bad.  I've pretty much made up my mind that I won't do it unless he throws in his 1.6 pick ... I like Britt's upside long term more than I need SJax for a one year rental, and you're right, I can probably get a lot more down the road for him.
