Darren McFadden: On the rise or decline moving forward?

    Much like last season, Darren McFadden will either burn you or blow up in 2012. He did both last year, and was one of those ideal sell-high candidates before he went down. I kind of see him in the same light heading into 2012... but I wouldn't sell unless I'm selling high, because I think he has SO MUCH upside.

    good comparison with Vick.  I'm hoping both players can break their fragile reputation this year.

    I have a major mancrush on Dmac.  The dude is a beast when he plays.  I was very irritated with his 2011 season, but for some reason, I keep wanting to buy.  I just started a new d-league where I took Mathews just ahead of Dmac.  Now the Dmac owner is after Mathews and I've been trying to find a deal that works.  I just can't seem to make the trade straight up, so I guess I would have to say he is declining.  I think this is a great time to buy low on him.

    Dmac is to fragile - outstanding RB but can't stay on the field. If you have him and can afford to bench him until he's healthy then great enjoy the production for his 6 to 7 games a year then put him in IR till next season. Otherwise sell high for someone that will be in 13 to 16 games.

    DMac is capable of being the #1 RB in fantasy IMO if he can stay healthy and play 16 games. Big if though. Im intrigued to see what he does in this new system. If Im not mistaken he will be running in the same system that Foster is currently playing in.

    I have DMac in a No-PPR limited keeper league along with ADP, Lynch, Stafford, Megatron, Julio, Harvin and some others 

    I could only keep one out of ADP (1.10 or 2.01), DMac (1.10 or 2.01) and Calvin (2.01)and then I could keep one more out of Lynch (12.01), Stafford (9.10), Julio (6.01) and Harvin (11.10)   OR, I could keep three out of Stafford, Lynch, Julio and Harvin

    Right now I am leaning toward keeping three because of the draft picks I have to forfeit. But, DMac does look promising. He probably won't fall to me.

    D-Mac just has soooo much upside.  There certainly is reason to question if he can stay healthy since its been a rough start for him but I'm going to reserve judgment until after this season.  If he stays healthy and produces I think he sheds the bad rap and gains a huge bump.  Worth the risk to me but I will definatly want to hand-cuff him....now the question is who will end up being his hand-cuff?

    Rise or Decline?  I would say neither.  I say his value has plateaued and will remain steady for the next 3ish years.  There are no surprises with DMac in that he is awesome when healthy and will help you win games and only 24-25 yrs old but the injury bug will continue to follow him indefinitely.  To me he is very similar to Mike Vick in terms of production vs inj risk, but you must have a contingency plan in place if you own him.

    When the kid is healthy he is a beast. My issue is how often is he healthy... If I can get him for a cheap price sure I will buy. BUT. I won't be over paying to get him

    He is very intriguing, no question whatsoever. I think Mathews and DMac is very close. I could see either having a top five RB season, and I can see either flopping. A lot of players have that bust factor mixed with the breakout factor, so that isn't to say I'd sell either assuming injury or bust... my point is, both have some risk and huge upside.

    I like Dmac and own him in several leagues... However you MUST own the backup for him... But who is it with Bush gone? T. Jones? Goodson? Reece?

    Good question, TheHiddenOne... possibly an incoming rookie? I'm not so sure his back-up will serve much more than a RB3 or flex, but handcuffing is critical for DMac owners, agreed!

    has the potential for top FF player if healthy..i am not so sure that matthews can do that..they both are very close IMHO..in value but it seems Matthews stays a bit healthier than DMAC.. The injury seems to have turned off alot of people as i grabbed in late 2nd 2-12 in a 16 teamer after grabbing stafford in the first i was pretty happy with that value...i thinks it is a time to buy low on him..at the value i got him for aleast..

    D.Mac is a stud..............When hes on the field! He a sure fire 1st rd pick in any format. Maybe...Just maybe he can stay healthy.

    Check out his career stats for a dose of reality.  One more injury filled season will drop his value considerably.  I would shop him right now and move him if you can get top value.  Don't wait for preseason when some minor injury might cause other owners to hesitate.

    This is DMac's put up or shut up season.  If he has another injury riddled season, his value becomes minimal at best.
