RB strategy?

Has anyone ever started 2 RB's from the same team?  A few years ago I started Ricky and Ronnie and had very good success.  I see some similar situations this year.  Maybe a new  strategy is emerging??

Yes, last year Mathews & Tolbert were in my line up starting and I made the playoffs.  I was knocked out the first round but made it that far.  I also started McGahee, R. Rice and McClain in combo Rices rookie year. McClain and who ever started McGahee or Rice. I might also start Ingram and Sproles or CJ and Jackson in PPR leagues.  They are both going to get at least 10 touches on a consistent level week in and week out. My league starts 3 RB's though so quality backs are hard to find.

Cool!  What do you think of Charles and Hillis this year?

Go with the guys who'll get you the most points. People over think this.

If you had Nicks and Cruz at WR, wouldn't you start them both?

I don't typically advise owners to go out and depend on two rb's from the same team as their starters.  These were situations that made sense.  With my example of Tolbert and Mathews originally I planned on just starting Mathews but when Tolbert was putting up as much if not more I decided to start both.  Tolbert started as a handcuff to Mathews and ended up starting along side Mathews which worked fine.  Hillis and Charles may be a similar situation.  I wouldn't go into the season depending on it. You should try and get another RB starter.

I had Foster and Tate in a redraft league last year, and I was often tempted to start both.

Hillis will be available in my dynasty redraft and I see him sitting there early in the 2nd round.  I have Charles so that was my thinking to this point.

You should def roster Hillis if you have Charles.

Hillis isn't a backup.  He'll have value all on his own.  He might end up with more carries than Charles.  Thomas Jones did in '10

KC was rushing leader in 2010 too.

What are they gonna do, rely on Matt Cassel?  Hillis is champing at the bit to prove doubters wrong, has a one-year contract, Charles is still not 100%, and they have a defensive-minded coach.  I see Hillis getting double-digit TDs

I agree.  So are you saying I sit Charles and find another RB?

^Not necessarily. Depends on how he looks. But I'd have more than Hillis and Charles if I could. Charles relies so much on his elusiveness, and that will probably be somewhat diminished at least for a while this year.  He needs to get healed AND regain confidence.  It's a process.
