- Breaking News: Ben Tate Officially Signs With Browns
-
BREAKING NEWS:
(3/15/14 @01:25PM EST) Ben Tate is officially a Cleveland Brown, as he reportedly inked his 2-year deal with the Browns moments ago.
(3/15/14 @10:25AM EST) Multiple sources, plus a Rotoworld confirmation, suggest that Ben Tate will sign a deal with the Cleveland Browns today, pending passing a physical. Stay tuned. The #bentateshow is about to begin, folks!
(3/15/14 @01:29AM EST) It appears Ben Tate and the Browns will continue talks later today, as it is now past midnight. I’m being told the only hang up right now is in regards to guaranteed money. So, unless reports are wrong about Tate staying in Cleveland one more night, I’m feeling pretty good about a deal getting officially inked sometime Saturday. I’ve never heard of a player staying in town for three days only to walk away without a deal.
(3/14/14 @6:34PM EST): A source in Cleveland is telling DraftCalc that a deal between Ben Tate and the Cleveland Browns is very close to getting done. In full disclosure, this source is several individuals removed from the situation, so we are in no way suggesting that anything is official, but clearly it is great news that today is Tate’s second day of talks with the Browns. What has us excited is what I was told roughly ten minutes ago, which was that Tate is almost in a “hey, hang around” mode, which indicates to our source that the only delay right now is the ironing out of details. The other thing that was suggested that kind of stuck with me was that the sense is that Tate’s side of this has to realize that there is NOT a lot of NFL teams out there in need of a starting running back entering 2014, and with this year’s rookie class being relatively deep, the suggestion is that a deal not getting done isn’t likely an admitted option for “Team Tate“. Once we can confirm all this, we will let you all know, and understand that the “ironing out” of details is still an obstacle. Still, the last thing I was told was, “Lengthy visits are a good thing, I see it getting done.” I’ll keep you all posted!

Yep. Decent add football wise, and makes handcuffing Spiller a bit tougher. Will he hog goal line TDs as well?
