As we head into the final weeks of most every fantasy football league’s regular season, it’s time identify a few players that could be montsters down the stretch here in Weeks 13-16. One of the main reasons for identifying these players is so that no one goes and sells these players thinking they should be selling high. These players below are players to ride through the final four fantasy weeks! If you don’t own them, trade for them if you can, even if you have to pay a strong price.
[level-all]
Jordan Cameron – TE
It seems like forever ago, but during the first part of the 2013 fantasy football season, there was almost no one better at the tight end position than Jordan Cameron. He has been awful as of late, though, so bad that he has been dropped in some formats, and he has been benched indefinitely in most others. Well, there is reason to believe the beast will be back in Weeks 13-16. Check out Cameron’s game logs and notice which passer was slinging him the football in each contest…
[table “53” not found /]
As you can see above, there is nothing more correlated than Brian Hoyer starting and Jordan Cameron producing, however, Brandon Weeden has also been a big part of Cameron’s strong outings. Campbell, as you can see, caused Cameron to vanish from fantasy relevance, but Weeden helped Cameron produce monster numbers in three out of his five games as Cleveland’s starter. Campbell fed Cameron zero touchdowns in 3.5 games, but Weeden had Cameron cranking out 9/108/1TD in Week 1, 5/95/0TDs in Week 2, and 7/55/1TD in Week 7. Sure, Cameron was mediocre in the two other games commanded by Weeden, but Weeden entering Week 13 as the team’s starter is very promising for Cameron owners, and I’ll go as far as to say a top 4-7TE might reemerge here in the final four weeks of the 2013 fantasy football season. Of course, this could change should Jason Campbell be reinserted into the Browns line-up, but that’s a tough thing to predict at this point. If you own Cameron, run him out onto the field in Week 13! If he is available on waivers, consider grabbing him! And, if you can buy extremely low, maybe in some combo deal, take a stab!
Marshawn Lynch – RB SEA
I think top 5RB numbers are EASILY within reach for Beast Mode down the stretch.
Eddie Lacy – RB GB
Eddie Lacy’s 73 rushing yards (3.0) and 0TDs in Week 10 was disappointing, and his 27 yards (he did have 1TD) in Week 11 was also disappointing, but Matt Flynn is in the line-up now, which means that defenses will be back to being a bit more honest. Plus, Aaron Rodgers could be back in a game or two… Even with Flynn, though, Lacy is capable of doing what he did in Week 12 (110 rushing yards and a score) every week. I still question his ability to be a long-term fantasy RB1 in this league, but I admit, I like him more for 2013 and 2014 than I predicted during the off-season. I think selling after a big year in 2014 is smart, though (while on the topic). I love Lacy down the stretch, and wouldn’t be surprised to see him produce top 5RB numbers.
Andre Johnson – WR HOU
If you own him, don’t trade him! If you don’t own him, you won’t get him cheap, although his 0TDs in two games might have some owners forgetting that AJ was the best receiver in football in Weeks 9-11. I wouldn’t be shocked if Johnson played like a top 3-4 fantasy WR down the stretch.
Ben Tate/Dennis Johnson – RB HOU
While Ben Tate (ribs) could continue to remain hampered by his broken ribs, there is just too much upside here not to at least buy-low. Am I saying count on top 5-10RB numbers down the stretch here in Weeks 13-16? No way. But, can he produce those kinds of numbers, or could Dennis Johnson should Tate break the rest of his ribs? Absolutely. Owning both is smart, though.
Andre Brown – RB NYG
I love Andre Brown as a very, very strong RB2 down the stretch! Top 6-10RB numbers are in the cards!

That’s why I acquired Andre Johnson for that reason! Looks like trading Knowshon at the time I did was a good move to get AJ as Knowshon is in a walking boot now.
Yeah, hopefully the ‘too little, too late’ Montee Ball show kicks off this week.
“Moreno practiced on Thursday and Friday, and was “moving better” during today’s session, per beat writer Mike Klis”
Looks like it is going to be ‘too much nothing ever’.
Yep, could be, or Moreno’s wheels will fall off and we all watch Montee blow up in Week 17 when it won’t help a single soul.
If Broncos win on sunday. And clinch their bye.
Yes, Ball will be playing week 17.
If he doesn’t his stop fumbling soon, I think Moreno will be back next year as well. And this headache will start all over again next season.
Going old school with Kelly Holcomb there. I’m assuming you meant Hoyer:)
Ha, yeah, let me edit that. Thanks.
Fixed. Amazing how Holmcomb came to mind ha. Hoyer was fantastic for Cameron, though. Wow. Gordon does well no matter what.
Hi Smitty. Would you play Cameron over Bowe? I have a monster team in one league, (Stafford, ReggieB, McCoy, Megatron, Demaryius are locked in this week), and I can flex either. My first thought was Cameron, but Bowe vs Denver looks sweet, too. Right now, I’m leaning Bowe. Whatcha think?
That’s coin toss close, my friend. I think both have risks of doing very little, while having upside of 70-80 and a score. I think Cameron might be the safer play, but look at Nate Burleson this week. After his excellent Week 12 return, he looked like one of the safest WR3 plays this week in all of fantasy football. He had not one single catch. Honestly, this is one of those calls I’d go one way in one league, and the other in the other league (if I had the same scenarios in both).. it’s that close.
