As we head into Week 10, it’s important not to slow down in the trade offer department. Sometimes 1-2 late-season trades win a league, or in the case of dynasty, they mold a future. So whether you’re in dynasty or redraft, it’s time to look at a few buy-low candidates heading into Week 10.
- Andrew Luck – QB IND
-
[level-all]
Andrew Luck isn’t exactly going to be easy to acquire, as he is coming off back-to-back 3TD performances, and his last outing resulted in 271 yards and three touchdowns, however, he could still absolutely increase in value here in the next week or so. Luck is on the verge of becoming as good as any fantasy quarterback in the game. We’ll leave Peyton Manning in his own tier for now, but starting next year, Luck could be the new Aaron Rodgers, a dynasty passer that is considered inside the top 12-24 overall in extremely-quarterback-friendly. So, whether it’s redraft or dynasty, Luck is top 2-3 capable moving forward.

- Andre Brown – RB NYG
-
[level-all]
Andre Brown (leg) returns from IR in this Week 10, and while he could be used less than originally thought during his first game back in action, the runner is a good bet to carry the load for the Giants down the stretch in 2013. Brown not getting full-go carries this week might have his current owners questioning his Week 10-16 value. Well, use this to your advantage, because once he gets going, he could very well produce sneaky low-end fantasy RB2-type numbers. It’s tough to say how much value Brown has in dynasty, as he has never really had super-strong long-term appeal, but I like the odds, going forward, of him really grabbing ahold of those starter-type carries in New York. So, this is more of a redraft recommendation.

- Shane Vereen – RB NE
-
[level-all]
Shane Vereen returns to his Darren Sproles-type role just as soon as the Patriots come off their Week 10 bye. He has Sproles-like value right out of the gate, assuming he suffers no setbacks this week and next (so, stay on the news!). Will he eventually start down the stretch in 2013? He may, he may not, as Stevan Ridley produces one moment, then drops the ball another moment. Regardless, Vereen is a PPR beast, and could get 8-10 carries and 4-6 receptions per-game. That’s enough for a guy like Vereen to make a huge impact. And, if he gets starter carries, well, he goes nuts. Buy-low if you can, although, anyone that has owned him has waited so long for him to return, many won’t deal the guy just based on principal. However, that’s what 2-for-2 and 3-for-2 type trades are for… they can often have fantasy owners letting go of that type of thinking. The real value right now is acquiring this guy in dynasty as a low-end RB2 – He can earn that value with ease, so it’s low-risk, but he can explode from that value, so he is high-reward. Edit: late Saturday night addition
- Trent Richardson – RB IND
-
[level-all]
No, I’m not just sticking to my guns, but I’m also not suggesting that anyone bank on Trent Richardson as anything more than a low-end RB2 or flex-type option (until he proves himself). The team keeps saying that they want to get him the ball more, then they fail to follow through. I accept the fact that he has been a total failure up to this point, and that the risk remains that he could continue to fail… but, I will not stand down from my assessment of his talent. I hear that he is slow, hesitates, isn’t tough, can’t gain good yardage per carry. I watch him play and I know he would thrive in this league if given the proper opportunity. So, with the caution that he could keep cranking out mediocre, or less, numbers moving forward this year, he is a buy-low on all levels in dynasty. He is. He will cost you very little, yet his upside is huge.

I have a trade question. My league is a standard keep 4 players.
QB RB RB WR WR WR K D No TE or flex.
Romo Locker
TRich Lamar CMichael
LeV Bell Vereen FJax
Dez DeAndre Hopkins
K Allen Alshon Jeffrey
J Gordon Marvin Jones
The question is would you trade Alshon Jeffrey, Keenan Allen and Bell for Jamaal Charles and Chris Ivory?
Or would you trade Gordon, Alshon Jeffrey and Bell for Charles and Ivory?
Should I trade for Charles at all or should I leave my team the way it is?
Keep in mind it’s a 4 keeper league so it would be for this year and next.
Instead of Ivory I could ask for Jordan Cameron, Harry Douglas, Riley Cooper, Cecil Shorts?
Too much to give up? It’s obviously mostly to get Charles.
I think I take that because your WRs are still good, and Ivory could gain more value soon and you can turn this into Charles and a WR or RB I like more (that’s undervalued). Charles helps you a lot. Trading Charles higher than this is always another option, as this isn’t buying high.
Just added TRich to the list here late Saturday night. I know he has failed everyone this year, including me (in several leagues), but as you will read above, the risk is minimal and the upside is huge (in dynasty)… and still in redraft if you can get him cheap enough (flex-like or low RB2-like value).
Im dropping trich for an upgrade at kicker. not worthy of a roster spot even with a 12 player bench ( 11 starters )
Even if Indy, who said yesterday that they will run more, uses him like they should be using him, it’s tough to believe them right now.
