Week 15 Adds + Players To Count On?

So, it’s Week 15 and most of you are in need of a win. Some of you can no longer make add/drop moves in your league, and for you folks I have provided a few extras nuggets down below (just some random thoughts on a couple players), but first, let’s jump into the top players to add heading into Week 15!

Week 15 Top Adds

Toby Gerhart received 15 carries for 89 yards and 1TD in Week 14 against the Ravens. With Adrian Peterson (ankle) out for Week 15, and likely out longer given that the team won’t be rushing the stud back prematurely, Gerhart could be a strong play in Weeks 15 and 16 (despite his tough match-up against Philly in Week 14).

Josh McCown is the number one passer over the last four weeks, and his last three games are as follows: 352-2-1, 355-2-0 and 348-4-0. Insane. It’s even crazier that he is available right now in like half of all leagues. Sure, Jay Cutler (ankle) could be back once cleared, maybe even by Week 16, but maybe not… there is a chance the organization/coaches, who are publicly committing to Cutler, will “not rush” Cutler back… it’s really tough to say. All we can say for certain is that McCown shouldn’t be available in any formats merely due to his ability to go nuts even if it’s one game at a time.

Da’Rick Rogers is a solid redraft grab, no question, proven by his 6 receptions for 107 yards and 2TDs in Week 14. However, his true value is in dynasty, and is an absolute must-grab in all dynasty/keeper formats. Make sure this guy isn’t hanging out in your league’s free agent pool of players! I love TY Hilton, and I still think Hilton can be a star, but there is no denying that Rogers has an equal shot at that outcome.

Jordan Todman could have some sneaky value soon, or he could be worth nothing, it all really depends on Maurice Jones-Drew’s hamstring injury. Monitor the news and grab Todman if you have a spot to burn.

LaVon Brazill had a great game in Week 14 (3/53-2TDs), pulling in two scores just like his buddy Rogers, but I’d have to say that Rogers is the high-upside guy if I had to decide between the two. But, because I’m not exactly 100 percent sure on that, none of us can be yet, Brazill is a great dynasty add right now.

Not likely Available, But Check

Stevan Ridley might get another shot to produce now that Rob Gronkowski (knee) is done for the year. How does Gronk relate to Ridley getting touches again? Well, Shane Vereen will probably play an even bigger role in the passing game now that Gronk is out, and this could open the door once again to the fumbling Ridley. The team may be forced to trust in him again as they often send Vereen out for passes. He may not be available in most leagues, but it’s worth mentioning just in case he was dropped, and in some leagues he appears to have been dropped. One final note, it is possible Brandon Bolden is the player that gets the bigger workload due to the Gronk injury, it’s just tough to say.

Marcel Reece had a big Week 14, rushing 19 times for 123 yards and a touchdown. He isn’t likely available in most leagues because he was one of our top add recommendations last week — and he went nuts — however, if available, grab him, as he still has some strong PPR presence even though Rashard Jennings is likely back from his concussion. Monitor the news on Jennings, as it’s always possible OAK does a rushing split this week to ease Jennings back into the offense!

Other Solid Grabs

  • Chris Ogbonnaya – RB CLE
  • Case Keenum – QB HOU
  • Kenbrell Thompkins – WR NE
  • Jason Campbell – QB CLE
  • Michael Bush – RB CHI
  • Daniel Thomas – RB MIA
  • James Starks – RB GB
  • Dennis Pitta – TE BAL

Week 15 Side Notes

Ben Tate to rebound?

After a very big Week 13 out of Ben Tate, the runner disappointed in Week 14, rushing for just 53 yards. Well, while nothing is certain, and coaching changes can often cause either rebounds or setbacks for some players, I still feel Tate can produce big numbers in Weeks 15 and 16. I say remain confident in Tate, of course it depends on your options, so get on our forums and get some line-up advice if you have big dilemmas! You will find my weekly projections here, in case you want to see how I feel Tate will do vs. other players.

Remember last time Tom Brady only had Julian Edelman?

With Rob Gronkowski (ACL) out for the season, Tom Brady will once again lean heavily on Julian Edelman. Of course, Brady still has Danny Amendola and Shane Vereen, but no Gronk could have Edelman producing big numbers in Weeks 15 and 17!

Good luck to everyone in Week 15!

Tough matchup against DET and CIN and easy matchup against PHI, I think.

Firstly, thank you! In competitive league and made the playoffs in 1 of many. (Worst beat: needed 2 points from ARodg and foster) and lost them for the year. Your pre-draft and weekly advice is top notch. You provide the angles needed to be a fantasy football savage! Drafting J Gordon in mid rounds was priceless! Julian Thomas, etc…but they way your weekly dissection is like a surgeon. Big UPS Smitty; I enjoyed the ride and can’t wait for next year!

Simple: Any Advice; here is my week 15 line up: re-draft, 1 ppr,
    (Waiver claim: Reece (drop Ertz)
    QB: Josh McCown
    RB: McCoy, M.Bush
    WR: AJ, Gordon
    TE: G. Graham
    Flex (wr/RB/te) Doug Baldwin
    K: R. Gould
    D/sp: Saints

Reserves: RG3, Welker, L. Miller, Fozzy, Bryce brown, J.Cook,

      Hey Smitty,
in PPR format for week 15, would you start Cordarelle Patterson or Da’Rick Rogers?

In PPR, I also have Knowshon Moreno and Montee Ball. Debating whether to start both of them? My other Rbs are Reggie Bush and Steven Jackson. I have a flex spot as well, so I can start 3 of the above backs? Suggestions?

@pro5 Honestly, those are very close, and I’d point to my projections. I can’t make a better guess with such close calls, but the projections are my guess. As for the other question, I start Bush and Moreno if Bush is a go. Stay on the news! His availability sounds promising as of now.

      @biggie smalls Thanks buddy!

I see nothing to swap out line up wise, and given Graham is solid, and you can probably add Ertz or someone like him back later, Reece is a good add. Nice squad, still very dangerous. You say this team lost ARod and Foster? If so, wow. Nice drafting. Get ready for 2014!

Naw man, I wish! I lost those guys in the big $ league; and still almost snuck in. (Guys like Gordon, denarius, Ellington, etc..almost got it done. W/ streaming a QB) only option is pick up Justin hunter and drop Bryce brown only of you think I should flex him over Baldwin; all the best!! 2014 “can’t wait” alla Bart Scott.
