Last year, we predicted BIG things out of Isaiah Pead, however, the runner never really got a chance to shine for the Rams.
Will Pead get his chance to start in 2013?
Or, did the Rams draft rookie Zac Stacy to be their new starting rusher?
Check out our “Quick Hit” video below on Pead and that 2013 Rams’ running back situation!
Unless something drastically changes, Daryl Richardson is the most talented RB in this backfield still.
Very intriguing situation, Stacy was a steal where they got him, and RBs are fragile, that is more important to understand than the whole “Why would they draft a RB” conundrum. The real question is “Why Not?” the most fragile position in the game, two small-ish RBs (though D-Rich is solid and strong, he’s more solid and stronger than CJ900 and Jamaal Charles and similiar quicks/shiftiness, not the same straightline speed though, Pead is closer there, without the strength), and a team that can contend! Why have to sign a Chris Ogbonnaya type scrub when you can have a solid player waiting in the wings when injuries strike?
Just my two pennies into the well
Anything can happen, and I’m not the coach, which is why the Pead/Stacy strategy isn’t a lock. I love it for the value, though.
Hey Smitty. A buddy is sitting on an offer for Stacy:
Stacy and Ridley for Forte and MBush.
He currently owns Pead/DRich and Vereen.
I think it’s an easy decline, but considering it includes some of your favorite guys, I thought I’d ask, A, if you would counter, and, B, what he would have to add to get Forte from you.
I keep Forte, no question. Not a fan of Ridley for many reasons. Vereen being one, Ridley not being involved in the passing game, tons of reasons. Stacy is a deep sleeper at best, and should be acquired in only cheap fashion. Forte is a 2nd round running back, a round I would not consider Ridley in.
Pass. I wouldn’t even head down that path.
