Is this kid no longer a QB1?

Have the injuries and fear of getting nicked up change the guy making him unstartable in a standard league? He came in as the next big thing, a better version of Cam even. Is it time to sell????

Im gonna hold because in leagues I dont own him in I wouldnt give up much. I dont know what to think anymore. I think they just need to get him a legit #1 WR, but who knows. He may cost me a championship.

I think he has had a rough year, and he came back too early (not everyone is AP). Will this cause a cascading effect that has him never rebounding? Maybe he gets hurt again because he never heals and compensates? It's possible. I think we all witnessed his ability the year prior, it's in there, that doesn't just emerge as a rookie (when it's toughest to play as well as he did) and vanish. An outside factor is at play and that factor is not being 100% and playing with a team that has many issues.

I'm torn. On one hand I am very unimpressed by his lack of development this year and his inability to progress through and see all of his reads..even tonight he is getting ancy in the pocket and not hitting the open check down...on the other hand..I also think that it is hard to imagine how hard it is to just jump into the season as an nfl qb, no development time in the offseason. IMO, there is a light ahead for rg3, but i think it's only a 2-3 year window unless he starts playing with his head instead of his feet. So to answer your question I don't think he is a qb1 now, but I wouldn't sell him as anything less
    Bold Predictions:
June 21- Dez Bryant finishes as the #1 WR in 2013.

Washington should have let him sit out all year. He is supposed to be their franchise QB. They should have set that plan up and let him know so that he didn't rush and then it would have let him fully heal. They could've been just as bad (maybe even a little better) with Cousins all year and know that they get a fully healthy RG3 back next year.

Edit: I started Mike Glennon over him this week and I might going forward on one of my teams in the playoffs. Its too hard to trust RG3 at the moment

I don't think he's a viable QB1 long term for 2 reasons. 1, he is too frail to run in this league, he is an awesome runner, but is not built to last. 2, he is not a great pocket QB, average at best. So, if he runs he an be a spectacular QB, but isn't built for the hits, and if they stop him from running, a below average pocket QB - too much risk for your most important position - much better options out there

I think you just summed up Michael Vick

Good point - feast or famine, hate those guys, it's why I traded CJ in a deal for Lynch, give me consistent top tier points versus off the charts one week and a dud the next!

I was never a fan if RGIII coming out of Baylor. All he did there was throw sideline bombs or run... Never developed there to become a true franchise QB. And now with reports coming out that Shanny preferred Tannehill over him, leads me to believe that Cousins, a more conventional QB could very well be that franchise QB there once their rookie contracts are up.

ALL Those hits and THAT injury his rookie year really put his mental state out if whack so naturally his sophomore year was going to be somewhat of a "let's see how he responds" year. Really, next year will be his make or break year.

Keep in mind that Shanny and that whole front office may not be in WAS very long... Go in a different direction at QB.

Rob Schneider emptied his draft for a few years to get RG3, the city of Washington adores him and he's a military son. He's not going to be replaced by Cousins if he's still healthy.

After tonight I am officially an RG3 hater. He cost me this game with his 1.28pt performance in my league. I am now the highest scoring team in the league and I need a W next week or a L from the 7th place team for me to even make the playoffs. He's been nothing but a liability to me all season, and has cost me 3 games now. I'm starting Palmer over him next week and not looking back. I hope hype builds around him this offseason so I can sell him, Im finished with him.
    2013 predictions

    -Cobb outscores Harvin in PPR
-Chris Ivory will be a top 15RB
-Kenny Britt finishes outside the top 20WRs

RGIII isn't going anywhere. The Shanny's very well might be though... Listen, the Skins' line is butt awful. RGIII has little time and is making poor decisions with the time he does have. And half the time he makes a good decision, he gets jumpy and makes a poor throw...

They need to reboot this offense.

How many more picks do the redskins have to forfeit? And since the rams are gonna get such a high pick, are we sure that they won't take a qb? Or at this rate they might be in contention for the #1 overall pick. Maybe clowney or mariota

Well, he's still a QB1 for me this year, but just barely.  I'll stick with him over guys like Palmer, Dalton, or Glennon.  I wouldn't hesitate to use McCown over RG3 for the rest of this year though.  Hopefully, the rest of my team can compensate for his lows for the playoff push, but he usually gets his garbage fantasy points.  Going into next year, I hope they get a really good young WR to go with Garcon and Reed.

The Redskins forfeited 36 million in cap money the last two seasons and the only way you get around that is with draft picks which they used to get RG3.  They will have 32 million in the off season to use on the o line and to add pieces around RG3.  If you actually watch the games you will see that the kid has zero time to throw and is getting hit way too much.  I still think he is a franchise QB and will reserve judgement until he has a team around him.  Despite having cost me a couple of games this season he is still a hold for me.  Cam went from Superman to goat last season and has rebounded nicely this year.  It is the natural progression of a young QB.  Wilson, Kaep, and Luck have all struggled at times this season also.  Are we giving up on them too?

He's still a QB1, the O line is like a subway turn style and they will need to surround him with more talent if he is gonna succeed. If this team can't make the necessary upgrades in the offseason which will be a more daughnting task because they gave up so much to get him. I honestly believe a coaching change might be best. He can only improve next yr.

He has stud QB 1 talent but man he takes some hard shots. I wouldnt want him as my QB 1 because hes too risky IMO.

One of the biggest busts of this year but maybe I am over exagerrating. Him and Shanny have a crappy relationship and RG3 only really passes to Reed or Garcon; his O-line hasn't been great also. Last night was the first time he has not thrown for a TD, college or NFL

Last year defenses were not ready for these running threat QBs like RG3, Kaep but this year they have adjusted and add to the fact that RG3 is not 100% healthy is making it difficult for him to produce. I think he still has the talent but probably needs time to develop.

I think this excuse has become too easy to make for all the read option QBs. Yes, defenses adjusted somewhat, but what I've really noticed is that these QBs are trying too hard NOT to run and leaving yards on the field that they would not have left last season...

Also, it seems the mentality is that they only run if they have 50 yards of open field in front of them. I'd fear the first offense that realizes that a QB going for only 5 yards and sliding at the first sign of trouble is very effective. JMO.

As an eagles fan I see mike Vick 2.0. Great and exciting in madden but don't really think he is able to make it thru a season doing all of that running. Give me a pocket passer everyday of the week.
