TNT about to become a big player (The Last Ship & Legends)

Legends (from the makers of 24 and Homeland, and "Ned Stark is the star):

The Last Ship (end of the world survival show created by Michael Bay and from the makers of Transformers)

Both look epic, and The Last Ship is not a cheesy military type show like abc or nbc would produce, this is Michael Bay and Transforms like action and effects.

TNT is trying to rival A&E and FX... this will be a good start.

Legends looks very interesting. Tons of good actors and from the makers of Homeland and 24? Thats must see TV

The Last Ship looks different which is definitely nice to see with all the recycled shitty shows out there. Definitely has potential, looked like classic Michael Bay action until half way through the trailer....story line looks interesting if they write it well.

So many horrible network tv shows have tried to produce big shows, but the story lines are SO cheesy I just can't stand it.

    Revolution
    Terra Nova

What was that rogue submarine show called where the us government wanted to take out the sub and the sub captain and xo parked the sub at some remote island? Such a dumb show. Could have been great!

TNT coming out with some big hitters is long overdue!

Mark my words, I've said this a few times, but tv is going to change because of Netflix Originals having SO much success, which wouldn't have been bravely-born without FX and HBO paving the way. Soon smart TVs (it will be more advanced than it currently is, too) will be the full time hub of our tv watching, not just an alternate branch... ESPN, HBO, all this should be "pay per channel" (monthly), all individually bought vs force-fed hundreds of channels of cable in one package. Cox Canle, Direct TV, these go the way of movie rental stores in 3-8 yrs.

The internet was the biggest evolving life changer of the 2000-2010 timeframe... Enhanced entertainment, especially TV and movies, mixed with more mobile computing (all cloud bases computing, or streaming from on the road to your home), with eyeglass/contact lens computing (sleeker than google glass) will be next.

Another mark my words.. Our kids will laugh at our generation for having to grow up without everything being recorded through glasses. Lectures, lunch with friends, everything will be recorded. It will be resisted, but nothing can stop it IMO.. Our kids, or their kids depending on your age, will rewind moments like we do on DVRs.

Ever find yourself not on a DVR-based TV (like a hotel tv) and you try to reach for the remote to rewind live tv, but laugh because you can't? That's how we will all feel when we can't rewind our day because we forgot our glasses type computer/phone at home... Oh, computer and phone will be one, more than now.. Imagine fighting with the wife, then rewinding the fight to prove who said what in the fight.

Computers.. Will they kill us, or save us?

Living here in LA, you overhear things from people in the know. Every network is upping the stakes on their tv program and are finally willing to push the envelope. After falling way behind in ratings, USA, TNT, TBS, ect, want to get in on the action. Every basic cable network passed on breaking bad because they said they couldn't have a show about a meth dealing chemistry teacher on their network. I even saw an interview with Vince Gulligan talking about how one network asked him if they could change the meth dealing to money laundering so they could air it on their network. FX and HBO did pave the way. Showtime, Starz, AMC, Netflix have all become major players. TV getting a lot better all around!

I actually liked Terra Nova, and Revolution was pretty good 1st season, this season it has gone to far.  Sarah Connor Chronicles was pretty good as well, but was also canceled.  I try not to watch Sci-fi shows on FOX because they cancel them for no reason, even whey they are doing well and making money.

Honestly can't wait for the Pirates show coming next month on Starz, I think it is next month anyway, could be February.  I liked Spartacus until the original actor died.
The Da Vinci show is ok, can be hard to follow at times as so much is going on it.

1st episode of Newsroom was amazing.  Still a good show.

    Game of Thrones epic.

    Walking Dead, enough said.

Basic cable getting killed by what these other channels are able to provide in terms of what can be shown on TV.

    QB: Brady, Kaepernick
RB: McCoy, Miller, D. Richardson, Jackson, Lattimore, McGahee
WR: Cruz, Blackmon, Gordon, Jeffery, K. Allen
    TE: J. Thomas, Cameron
    K: Hartley
    DST: Texans, Saints

I seriously watch Real Husbands of Hollywood and that show is funny as hell.  So ridiculous, but that is what makes it funny.  It isn't a real reality show but pretends to be it is on BET though just a heads up so it is rather bootleg.  Kevin Hart is hillarious though and makes fun of himself which makes it funny.  It is over the top corny though.

Now that I have ruined all credibility on what I watch I fully believe your right Smitty about pay per channel.  The cable company near me is already discussing it and they are notoriously bad at customer service but they want to be ahead of the game.  I personally would only need a couple channels but I have kids.  My cable bill just hit the end of the free cycle so they want me to pay $20 month for DVR not sure I'm going to spring for it, but like you said I reach for the remote on everything these days.  Even just replay a good sports play.
I don't trust Adam Schefter and neither should you!!!

Revolutions has gotten better in season two I feel.  Almost gave up on it midway through season 1.  I was bored one night and started watching where I finished and couldn't stop watching.  We all know how that is, binge watching until 3am.

Never got to season two of revolution, but wasn't into it at all, and I love those kinds of story lines.
