This made me laugh.  In 6 years he only has 3 1000 yard seasons, and is getting paid like an elite WR.

DeSean Jackson said Monday he wants the Eagles to renegotiate his contract and give him a raise.

In March of 2012, Jackson signed a five-year, $48.2 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed. He's owed $10.25 million in 2014 base salary and a total of $30.5 million in salary plus workout bonuses over the next three years. But as he comes off a career-best season, he wants more. "I definitely feel like it's deserving," Jackson said. "I'm proven in this league, and after this past year, went out there, no distractions, and just really put it all in for my team and went out there and had a lot of success, so we’ll see how it goes." D-Jax has absolutely no leverage here. He's being compensated at a rate in line with the elite players at his position and is under contract through 2016. Skipping OTAs and minicamps won't do anyone any good.

I don't believe any of his money is guaranteed.

Nor should it be. The reason he finally had a somewhat consistant season is likely due to his incentive laden contract.

I defended the chris Johnson case cause the titans gave him the contract so I think they should honor it....same thing here for me....dude just signed that deal..he signed a WRITTEN contract...where were these "Jackson is unhappy comments"when they handed him a 10 million dollar signing bonus?

He's around the 6th highest paid WR. What does he expect, Megatron megabucks?

    Maclin is a FA.

    So is Cooper....

I wonder if this is the result of DeSean spending $$$ like its water or something? Sounds like the demand of a desperate person....

I'm am Eagles fan, go to most games, love the team - yet this little princess wants money every time he has a good season, in a contract year or not.  I'm tired of his me first, team second attitude.  He even laid down one season so he wouldn't get hurt in a contract year - - explitive inserted here - - not a team player.

But as a football player, he's got some skills.  His agent knows he won't get paid, so I think he's just posturing for 3 years from now at contracts end.  DJax did get $10 mil garenteed, paid at signing, and will be paid 10 mil per year over the next 3 years.  No chance he gets more money, just a distraction.  Glad it happened this far from next year's training camp and season so this will be old news.

The Eagles have bigger problems at WR, since DJax is under contract - Maclin is coming off major injury (so he may come at a discount for a 3 year contract) so we know not what to expect if his play in 2014, and Cooper is coming off a career year (so he'll cost too damn much for his value) and he has had drinking problems so we'll see how he handles himself in the offseason...

The Eagles have some defensive issue to fix in the draft, and that will/should be where most of the draft goes.  I wouldn't be surprised is Chip takes a WR ealy though, you heard it here - Eagles pick a WR in the 1st or 2nd in 2014...

I still find Maclin to be a better talent. Shame he can't stay on the field long enough to prove it. Wasn't Desean just asking for a pay hike 2 years ago? I'd try my best to sign for a Decker or even an under rated Golden Tate then cut this annoyance. Heck Cooper shown me enough take over Jacksons gig.

Desean is a bootleg Mike Wallace and we all saw what happened to him when he didn't have talented WRs playing across from him to take coverage away.  If the eagles can't re-sign some WRs it'll be funny watching Desean next year

First half of NO game Keenan Lewis a slightly above average CB completely shut him out... once Lewis got concussed he actually caught some balls. Hes a speedster in a good system other then that nothing special.

Not sure I see the point of this post? If you're implying DJax can only be productive while being opposite another talented WR; What talented WR was he playing across from this year when he put up almost 1400 and 9 TDs? Riley Cooper? Jason Avant?
    2013 predictions

    -Cobb outscores Harvin in PPR
-Chris Ivory will be a top 15RB
-Kenny Britt finishes outside the top 20WRs

Yah I'm with you here branch...most people can agree that wr is a position that Philly needs to address early in the draft next year..so I have two points with that:
    1. I can only see that situation getting better
    2. I don't think the wrs lining up across from d Jax were anything to write home about this year...I could really see philly taking someone like kelvin Benjamin in the 2nd or maybe Allen Robinson if he slips (point being, a bigger bodied kind of guy) to help work the underneath stuff and redzone help so that d Jax can be free to blaze 1 on 1 coverage...I'm not really a d Jax fan, but I don't see his situation getting worse than it was. The only concern I might have would be defensive coordinators having an offseason to study the Kelly offense. I know that it is NOT the same thing as the read option...but remember how we all though that was going to stick around as a go to offense for these young qbs?...
    Bold Predictions:
June 21- Dez Bryant finishes as the #1 WR in 2013.

I agree with all of this. I'm not a big DJax fan either FWIW.

We saw the best of DJax this season and I wouldn't expect for him to come close to those numbers again. He's the 7th highest paid player at his position and he's a one trick pony that disappeared in the playoffs. After a summer of film study of the Kelly offense along with Maclin's return on a one yr deal, Ertz development. DJax knows his production will plunge.

D jax has always been a 65 1050 6 td type guy except when injured so he actually has been fairly consistent ...so he has been close to those numbers he produced this year before and i see him doing that for the next 2 to 3 years until he slows down..its not like maclin has been a stud himself
