I was offered Marshall for.my Keenan Allen. I already have Alshon and Cutler as my backup to that gem, RG3. I won the championship last year. Is this a pass? Owner has Gordon as well. PPR. Is this a pass for me?

It's a tough one, because Allen is gonna be high on my rankings come Feb 1. Marshall is safer, though, but will he be ranked higher. Soon you will see. Allen is the home run and Marshall is the safer 'now' play.

100/1200/12 and still only 29......Marshall is cash money.

Marshall also said today on NFL AM, that he feels like this upcoming season will be his best season yet because he will be fully healthy and his second year under his WR coach now who pushed him to have a good season while banged up. Pretty bold statement, if I say so myself.

Yeah, I hear you all. This is one of those cases where the value is with Marshall, you almost have to do it in a way, but what I'm saying is in the end I think it's closer than it appears. But you don't trade on what someone can be or you are buying high, or in this case you're not selling high and retaining low.

My rankings are not where I suggest drafting also, so if Allen is higher on Feb1, that doesn't mean you should reach, rather it's just my way of highlighting value.

Marshall for me. I guess if you're looking for an asset that will hold more trade value down the road, then Allen is probably the way to go due to Marshall's age. The fact of the matter is, you're hoping for Allen is one day become what Marshall already is.

I like Allen, but I think he's going to be overvalued and ranked too highly by many going into 2014. I think he's going to be a very solid mid/high WR2 year in and year out, and may flirt with a top 10 season here or there. I don't see him as a top 5 player. Just my opinion though.

Marshall has put up 118/1508/11 and 100/1295/12 the past 2 seasons. Marshall is a strong, big bodied WR who does NOT rely on speed to be effective. He will just turn 30 this offseason. Cutler is now locked up long term, and Trestman's offense is legit. Marshall will continue to be a dominant 100 catch WR for quite a while. I understand the allure of Allen, but not a chance I trade Marshall for Allen straight up.
    2013 predictions

    -Cobb outscores Harvin in PPR
-Chris Ivory will be a top 15RB
-Kenny Britt finishes outside the top 20WRs

Yep, that's exactly what I'm saying. Allen will be this good IMO, but you're retaining low and not selling high. Market value screams Marshall here.

I hate to suggest robbery here, but can you upsell this and get more, or will that get vetoed.

Again, not suggesting not to take it, I'm just trying to prepare Chaz for the FEB unleashing of the rankings and don't wanna hear "why didn't you talk Allen up in my thread" :) Again, even if Allen is higher, that is only a call-out of value, always draft and most often trade with ADP values.

This sucks, because I wish this topic was "should I trade Marshall for Allen and someone strong" vs this, as buying low is where it's at on Allen, and this owner is making it near impossible for you to keep Allen.

I will say that if you give me the 1.06 or better along with Allen, then I would move Marshall for that. Not too many Allen owners that would do that at this point though.

I don't think anyone here is suggesting that Marshall isn't the obvious choice, but this convo was had with Dez Bryant once (as the Keenan Allen in this situation).. Buying low on Dez was the key regardless of what was being predicted. I'm merely saying this could that same sort of rise. But as I've said, and most have said here, the market screams value on the Marshall side.

But at seasons end, don't be shocked if Keenan scores as high in 2014, and higher in 2015+. I didn't say lock.

I agree that the immediate value is Marshall. I'm a huge believer in Keenan Allen for the future. However, does it male sense to move Allen and have my top 2 WRs as Marshall and Alshon? I'm not sure how comfortable I would feel rolling out both Bear WRs on a week to week basis.

I guess my original question wasn't so much in terms of who holds more value. I'm a huge Marshall fan, just concerned with rolling out both Bears WRs at the same time.

I had this issue in one league and I'm contemplating moving one of them this off season, because it's tough to figure out which one will get the TD's each week.

yeah they both finished top 10 in points.  WRs dont score huge every week anyway.  Take the better player in Marshall

Marshall will still continue to produce numbers for at least 3 more years. Alshon or not. He just gives great reliable production every year. Don't get me wrong I love Keenan, and he'll be a stud for years to come but The is the original Beast we're speaking of here. Allen you need to worry about matchups, injuries etc. When was the last time we needed to worry about Marshall? He's match-up proof.

I rolled them both out every week in 1 league, they both put up respectable numbers every week for the most part, btw I finished 1st in scoring in that league
    QB: Brady, Kaepernick
RB: McCoy, Miller, Stacy,F. Jackson, Lattimore, R. Jennings, Gerhart, L. Murray
    WR: Cruz, Blackmon, Gordon, Jeffery
    TE: J. Thomas

Will have to drop to 12 before draft

Brandon Marshall says he feels like he had a "down year" in 2013. Yikes...

I wouldn't worry about both being on the same team.  They are both top 10 WR's and that is what's important here.  Both are producers in that offense.
