Trying to Buy Low on Rice

The Ray Rice owner and I are just generally discussing a trade (nothing formal yet). He and I never come to terms in any trades. My "ask" is three-fold here.

    1) I'm still in rebuilding phase (you'll notice when I list my roster). Do I even bother to go after Rice?

    2) If I do go after Rice, do I have enough ammo at this point even in a buy low price?

    3) I have Pierce, and if it's a good idea for me to obtain Rice, what's my best bet in regards to an offer? Like I said, he and I never see eye to eye.

    Thx in advance.

    Start: 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 3Flex, 1TE

MY Roster: (don't laugh too hard)
    QB: Tanny, Pryor, Glennon
RB: Spiller, Tate, Pierce, Cunningham, Denard, Baker, CJ Anderson, Fozzy
WR: Julio, D. Baldwin, Goodwin, Britt, Broyles, Hanky, Graham, Quick, Jernigan, Boyce, Whalen, Mike Brown
    TE: Bostick, Escobar
    Picks: 1.1, 2.3 (17), 2.7 (21)

    His Roster:
    RG3, Matty Ice
    Rice, Trent, J. Bell, MJD
Calvin, AJG, G. Tate, M. Jones
    Davis, Eifert
    No Picks

i'm not sure what you have to offer him other than draft picks that wont be an overpay.   Looking at your picks I'd rather have 1.1 than Rice.  Your roster actually isn't that bad I think I'd stay away from Rice.  Offer him pierce for Joique Bell or TR

I think you have a decent foundation. You just have a lot of questions, but those guys could have better situations with free agency ( britt tate) I fully expect spiller to be better next year. You defitnetly need a tight end and would try to move your second and some change for one.

Or possibly move both seconds to go up in the first or to go after a young and comer like Patterson

I like that re: TRich or J. Bell. I'll have to gauge the TRich interest.

This was my thought as well. You're probably not making a run at the title this year, and who knows what Rice will look like in 2014, let alone 2015 when you need him. I think you're better trying to sell Pierce to the Rice owner than you are to acquire Rice.

I was offered L Blount for RRice.  I turned it down in a second.

Is Rice's value fallen that far or Blount that high?

no & no, that is the case of an owner seeing a big game & hoping you made a mistake and sold a great player for a slow plodder.... Or his values are WAY off of mine!

LOL, not even close. If I owned Rice, the chance to sell him was the week after his lone 100yd outing of 2013 against CHI. I think you just have to hold Rice and hope he turns it around next season. Even if his 2014 is similar to his 2013, he'll carry more value during the season when the inevitable run of RB injuries happen and someone is desperate for production at the position to make a title run.

Who are you looking at with your 1.1? Sammy Watkins? Just curious...

@MusicCityMayhem Right now, would go with Sammy and pair him up with Julio.
