Rookie draft picks in a startup draft

In a dynasty league that's having it's startup draft and rookie draft picks are available as individual choices (1.01, 2.03, etc., rookie draft later this year). What sort of value should I consider these picks to have?

I.e. when is a good time to start to grabbing rookie picks?

I'd say sometime in the 3rd for the top 1st round picks. I wouldn't be surprised if someone grabbed the 1.01 in the late 2nd because they're obsessed with Watkins.

this is one of those "personal preference" things - I go for proven commodity over potential performance most of the time so I'd be more of a 4th - 6th rounder before going rookie. but that's just me.

Someone grabbed the 1.01 rookie with their 3.01. Plan on waiting awhile still, tons of top-teir talent available.

Moving into the 10th round and the Top 11 rookie picks are gone (I didn't get any).

Which would you rather have, 2nd round rookie picks or some of these still available talents?

RBs: Darren Sproles, David Wilson, Andre Brown, Frank Gore, Darren McFadden

WRs: DaRick Rogers, Riley Cooper, Roddy White, Marvin Jones, Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman

TEs: Coby Fleener, Tim Wright, Charles Clay, Kyle Rudolph

What does your team look like currently

It's a 2QB, 1RB, 1WR, 1TE, 4FLEX league

QB: Russell Wilson, Tom Brady

RB: Marshawn Lynch, Reggie Bush, Lamar Miller

WR: Julio Jones, TY Hilton, Vincent Jackson, Wes Welker

TE: Zach Ertz

any qbs left?

Not big on Sproles, Gore, or DMC. However Gore could still be a very good play for at least 1 more year possibly.
Brown/wilson is a toss up going into next year

Rogers/Cooper/White/Edeman/Amendola/Clay/Rudolph

Bunch of third-tier QBs still.

Sam Bradford, Ben Roethlisberger, Brian Hoyer, Geno Smith, Carson Palmer, Alex Smith, Jake Locker, Case Keenum, Josh McCown, Mike Glennon, Terrelle Pryor, Michael Vick

Would you take all those guys in your ranked list above a mid 2nd round rookie pick?

I actually would think about Bradford/Clay here to possibly give you a backup qb for bye weeks.

2.1 wouldn't be horrible I don't think, if its available

Any other ideas?

I like these guys over 2nd round rookies.

If this is te 1.5 ppr for TE league you NEED to take clay or fleener over the picks.

Missed out on Clay, trying to trade up to grab Fleener but no one is biting.

Sweating these next 4 picks.

+1 once Minnesota gets a qb and now that norv is on board... look what he did to cameron this past year and gates before that, I think rudolph is a great buy low.

Hmmm...I know probably no one will agree..but I really think that geno will be a serviceable qb 2 next year after they get some skill around him..trade value at least

Here's my final roster, feeling pretty good about it - the rookie draft sure is gonna be boring though.
