Has anyone been part of a rookie draft with IDP yet? Just wondering where Clowney is falling. Are people reaching on this guy in IDP?

He will be a beast but I never seem to be that big on drafting DL or DB until the 5th round of our rookie drafts...too many scheme changes are variables from year to year for these positions...easy to go to the WW each year and find DL and DBs - that might just be me and the leagues I play in but I got Robert Quinn off waivers last year and he turned out to be the #2 guy last year
I agree with Boobam. Don't reach for him. You will always find DL production on the waiver wire.

I agree. I am in several idp leagues and lbs are primary. Unless he is proven nfl status, I would wait

I won't reach for him personally, but I have a feeling someone in our league will grab him in the 3rd round. Just a guess though. I think that's too early.

I usually takes DE a few years to get going anyways and you can always find good ones on the WW. The years before they broke out JJ Watt and Robert Quinn were WW pickups in 2 of my leagues. I would not even take a LB until the 3rd round so DE are in the 4-5 round range at best.

if he goes to the rams i will be taking him in the 1st round of my rookie/fa draft. why?
1 - gregg williams
2 - we start 4 dl in our league
3 - each manager usually keeps 2 or 3 dlinemen. that means the top 30 are already off the board. having an elite dl is such an advantage which we all hope clowney will be.
quinn or watt never hit the waiver wire in my league. i drafted quinn and never let go. watt also was never let go.

^^^. It all depends on your starting requirements. If you start four DL I can see them being more valuable. In my league DL are the least sought out players. They are about as valuable as K. I would never take a DL in the 1st round no matter what the league was like. DL come and go as often as the wind changes directions. Offensive talent is much harder to come by and much more valuable. You have to go offense in the first round.

most league dont put emphasis on IDP scoring so IDP is a waste of time. Now if the scoring is what it should be equal to the offensive counter parts then IDP is worth it. rosters sizes ,teams in league, start reqs all determine when IDPS start coming off the boards, in my main money leagues Lbers can go as high as top 5, DL back end of 1st at the best usually mid 2nds picks..and IDP scoring is equal to offensive side of ball.

I would aim at the LB from Buffalo, teams are really looking at him, could be a high pick in May.

I agree with bbd. If IDP scoring isn't equal to offense, it's pointless to take a D guy high. My league lbs score like the rbs. Lbs are very valuable. But with that being said, I still wouldn't take a lb until the maybe late first. Defensive players are just easier to come across.
