In any event, I won the league last year and I own the 1.01, 1.12, 2.08 and 2.11 picks in the top 2 rounds (FWIW, last year I traded the 1.06 for the 2.02 and a 2014 1st). That turned out to be the 1.01, so score for me. Anyhoo, I'm always a fan of trading down and acquiring more talent but I'm at a crossroads of whether or not I should just keep the 1.01 or trade down. The same guy has both the 1.02 and 1.03 picks. I asked him if he had interest in moving up from the 1.03 to the 1.01 in order to select Sammy Watkins. His response was: make an offer. I never responded back to him because that response didn't make it seem like he had much interest at all and I didn't want to waste my time.
However the guy with the 1.04 has some interesting pieces that I would have interest in (Andre Ellington, CJ Spiller, Kyle Rudolph, JJ Watt and Mychal Kendrick).
Here is the crux of my roster:
QB: Ryan and Russell Wilson
HB: L.Bell, Forte, Tate, D.Wilson
WR: Julio, Harvin, Cobb, T.Austin, Britt, Edelman
TE: Cameron, Housler
DE: Ansah, Dunlap
LB: David, Kuechly, Lee, Trevathan, Tulloch, Worilds
CB: Milliner
S: Cyprien, Burnett, Gilchrist
So what kind of advice would you guys have? Stay put with the 1.01? I'm kind of stacked at WR ( I can start 5) so taking a guy like Watkins would be a luxury pick. There isn't a HB worht taking with the 1.01 in this draft. I could take one of the QB's but at the end of the day, I may be able to get one with the 1.12. So whatcha think? Should I stay put? Should I try to package the 1.01 for Ellington and the 1.04? Maybe Spiller and the 1.04 for the 1.01? Thoughts?
