Need advice on my 1.01

50 man rosters.  IDP.  PPR w/1.5 TE PPR.  QB flex w/4 pts QB TD.  Rest pretty standard although IDP scoring is very balanced and weighed at about 40% of offense.

In any event, I won the league last year and I own the 1.01, 1.12, 2.08 and 2.11 picks in the top 2 rounds (FWIW, last year I traded the 1.06 for the 2.02 and a 2014 1st).  That turned out to be the 1.01, so score for me.  Anyhoo, I'm always a fan of trading down and acquiring more talent but I'm at a crossroads of whether or not I should just keep the 1.01 or trade down.  The same guy has both the 1.02 and 1.03 picks.  I asked him if he had interest in moving up from the 1.03 to the 1.01 in order to select Sammy Watkins.  His response was:  make an offer.  I never responded back to him because that response didn't make it seem like he had much interest at all and I didn't want to waste my time.

However the guy with the 1.04 has some interesting pieces that I would have interest in (Andre Ellington, CJ Spiller, Kyle Rudolph, JJ Watt and Mychal Kendrick).

Here is the crux of my roster:

    QB:  Ryan and Russell Wilson
    HB:  L.Bell, Forte, Tate, D.Wilson
WR:  Julio, Harvin, Cobb, T.Austin, Britt, Edelman
    TE:  Cameron, Housler
    DE: Ansah, Dunlap
LB:  David, Kuechly, Lee, Trevathan, Tulloch, Worilds
    CB:  Milliner
    S:  Cyprien, Burnett, Gilchrist

So what kind of advice would you guys have? Stay put with the 1.01?  I'm kind of stacked at WR  ( I can start 5) so taking a guy like Watkins would be a luxury pick.  There isn't a HB worht taking with the 1.01 in this draft.  I could take one of the QB's but at the end of the day, I may be able to get one with the 1.12.  So whatcha think?  Should I stay put?  Should I try to package the 1.01 for Ellington and the 1.04?  Maybe Spiller and the 1.04 for the 1.01?  Thoughts?

I'd look @ all offers but wait till after real draft to move pick if your not set on who to take.

Defense plays a huge role in this league and I scored the most defensive points.  My team was in shambles for much of the 2nd half of the year.  But my defense carried me.  I also left off guys like Frank Gore and other guys that I traded away.  These are the guys on my squad now, but you are right in asking how I won the league with half my team in IR.

Agreed from above. How did you win last year? Did your defense take over? Not a knock, I'm just curious.

Disregard my last post, it came in after you responded. That would make sense.

Looks like you could use Watkins. Id take him andtrade up from the 1.12 spot. If Watkins pans out he would make a nuce threesome with Julio and Cobb.

I'd keep the 1.1 and take Watkins. Like TBL said, try to use the 1.12 to move up then. Your defense looks really good. I can see the unit carrying you.

Thanks for the thoughts guys.  I was thinking the same but wanted to know if anyone had a different opinion.  Is there anyone that thinks that trading down would be the smart thing to do?

If you're not getting blown away by an offer for the 1.01...take Watkins & be happy.
