Alright guys, need some more advice.

14 team, Startup dynasty league. 1-2 QB, 1-4 HB, 1-4 WR, 1-4 TE, 0-1 PK (start 9).  1 PPR, 1.5 PPR TE, 4 pt pass TD.
1-4 DT, 1-4 DE, 1-5 LB, 1-4 CB, 1-4 S (start 11).  Defense is almost worth the same as offense, so very balanced scoring.

I got the 6th choice in picking what slot I want in the initial veteran draft.  The rookie draft order is reverse of the vet draft (so if I take 1.01 in the vet draft, I get 1.14 in the rookie draft).

Question:  What draft slot do I take?  The 1.03, 1.08 and 1.14 are already spoken for.  There are 2 picks before I can go, but wanted a plan before I get there.  I was thinking about dropping to 13, so I can get the 1.02 in the rookie draft and take best WR/HB available with 1.13 and best QB available with 2.02,  But then again, being at the end means that I can be on the wrong side of a run, so perhaps I stick at 1.06 or 1.07 and take AJ or Graham.

IDK.  What do you guys think?

So it's super flex? Am I reading that right? If so I think you need to grab a top 3 pick and take one of luck, Rogers or cam.

If you go 6 or 7 then you may end up in a very sticky situation as to whether to reach on a not so good qb or take the top rb available which would SCREW you at qb. So I think the earlier the better, especially if Watkins is already gone.
    Bold Predictions:
Cordarelle Patterson replaces Josh Gordon in the top 5 WR group.
(Julio, Calvin, AJG, CP, and Dez)

Andre Williams proves himself to be the best RB in this class, by having the most productive rookie season of all the rbs.

Rookie draft after the vet draft, so I won't know if Watkins is gone.  Just to give an idea, while it's a super flex, but scoring is very even across positions, so it isn't the type of league where you MUST start 2 QB's because the #20 QB is better than a WR2.  That isn't the case here.

I would need a bit more info to give any valuable advice here. Do you have a link to the league?
    2014 Bold Predictions (PPR):
    1. Alfred Morris will be a top 5 RB (4/21/14)

If you start 2 QBs then Id go early like emurrell17 suggested. If you are drafting with veteran owners the run will likely be over at 1.13. Then again you might be able to get 2 QBs like Rivers, Romo...maybe even Foles and one of them and a top 2-3 rookie pick. Tough choice. How experienced are your competitors?

Make a list of players you want with your first pick and take that draft spot. If that spot is taken then back up a spot or two. If scoring is fairly even, my list would put me late in the first. With all the flex options and positions started I probably wouldn't take an early pick unless I was planning on trading down. In the 5th and 6th round there will be some studs available.

Is this really a start-up dynasty or a redraft league like the league you were commish of last year?

Trying to trade players for rookie picks when you knew the league was going to start over was bush league. & to say the picks would follow w/out hesitation when I said that is bs & should be voted on if league starts over.

U should stick to the family games if you are going to bend the rules as a commish doc.

J.....  I think you rank your must have top guys and take the lowest position that still guarantees you one of them.  I lean against rookie fever in this type of draft and I also feel the later rookie picks are still going to be solid given what appears to be a deep class at RB/WR and a few good TEs.  I also want to get guys who are no-brainers early and build around them.

For me, I'd want Julio, Calvin, AJG, Rodgers, Jimmy so I'm more of a Top 5 pick person.  I'm not going to build around RB as they seem to come and go more quickly.  I tend to go proven over upside for the first few rounds where possible and it will be interesting to see how it plays out given the IDP scoring.

I could see you going something like AJG, A Brown, Stafford or something like that to start.  If your scoring hasn't changed much on IDP, I'm sitting out on every position except LB for a while.  New guys always pop up for plug and play during the season if you have some FA bucks to spend.

Good luck.  Would love to follow the draft live if you decide to post a link
