#2 Overall Rookie Pick

Non-PPR keeper league.  I drew the #2 overall rookie pick.  The combine is in the books, but obviously a ton depends on where these guys land during the draft.  But, at this point how do you rank the top 4-5 rookies?  I think it's Watkins, Evans......and then I'm not sure to be honest!  Do any of the RB's even deserve consideration at #2?  Maybe Hyde if he lands somewhere he can be their workhouse ala an Eddie Lacy type situation?  Glad I have a top 2 pick!  Thoughts?

Check out Matt miller's new 7 round mock draft.. I'm not pretending hat any of that will necessarily happen, but if you start to scroll down into the third and fourth rounds you will see some VERY rb needy teams taking guys we like. I think it had:

    Hyde to Jax
    Andre Williams to Tenn
    Seastrunk to ATL
    Carey to Cle

I mean if any of those teams don't pick up a rb through FA and take one of those guys it will have my interest for sure! I'm starting to come around on smitty's point of Watkins not necessarily being the 1.1...never thought I'd see the day.
    Bold Predictions:
Cordarelle Patterson replaces Josh Gordon in the top 5 WR group.
(Julio, Calvin, AJG, CP, and Dez)

Right now its Watkins and then Evans until we see where they all land.

Exactly, these 2 are the top picks and should be no matter landing spot.  Who goes 1 or 2 is I agree can be highly debatable but I lean towards Watkins before the NFL draft.  This is the first time in a really long time I haven't had a rock solid #1 by this point in the process.  Both WR could be very good with different points of attack really.

At RB I'm high on Grice from AZ ST, although by time you draft he will be a first round pick but right now he could be a second rounder.  All the top names listed above by emurrell17 are the top names but they all seem the same to me, nobody stands out.  Unless I see something drastic happen I'm not aware of now I don't think any RB deserves to be above the 2 WR mentioned for a number of reasons with main reason being split backs and longevity of WR career to RB.

I see it this way right now as well.  Tough to rank any of the RB's without knowing who drafts them.

Grice is your fav rb from this class?

Not my favorite but I want to land him when possible.  I don't really have a favorite right now, each has a flaw of some kind.  I just like his value compared to the others.  As of right now I wouldn't feel crazy taking him in the 1.8-1.12 range at current value if I drafted today.  I think by time we all draft though he will be around 1.5-1.8 range.  He imo is the best receiving RB of this class and will go to a high powered offense.  With a lot of these 2 back systems in play some of these guys like Williams could be really sneakily good.  Williams showed he can't catch but he would be a beast short yardage guy.

I have the 1.02 and 1.03 now in one contract league. I'm pretty excited for May. The only other thing I wanna do is trade and get the 1.01 as well, or move my 1.03 to the 1.01 so that I can have the first two picks and have total control of the situation, as RB could look 1.01 worthy come May. People say no way now, and I tend to agree that the odds are Watkins will be the 1.01 in most all drafts, but to rule out the possibility that a Hyde or Mason or other won't look 1.01 tempting at all is putting the cart before the horse IMO.

So, to answer your question, waiting is all you can do until these RBs find homes, as their landing spots truly dictate their value unlike some of the top WRs, who could thrive in many environments.

As of today, if forced to draft right now, I'd draft these guys in this order:

    1. Watkins
    2. Evans
    3. Mason

... and this requires a lot of assumptions at that 3 spot, as it could be Hyde that looks best in May.

If Watkins goes to Raiders & Evans Detroit 1 & 2 could flip-flop by situation I think.

Are we still high on Andre? Even in a NoPPR league, if the dude is not in on 3rd down, unless he is the reincarnation of Adrian Peterson...

I still like him. I think he is a great runner, and if he can pass protect then I think his coaches will make sure he gets better as a receiver. And I didn't watch him in the combine but weren't they running posts and corners and stuff? How often do we see rbs running those routes? Can Williams really not catch dump offs? If so then...ya...that's bad
