So in my biggest-money DLeague, I have the following roster (main dudes, anyway):
    QB - Cam, Locker, Glennon
RB - DMartin, CJ Spiller, Andre Ellington, DeMarco
WR - Calvin, Cobb, Percy, Torrey Smith.
    TE - Gronk, Martellus, Ertz

    We start 1qb, 1-4rb, 1-4wr, 1-2te...so heavy flex. It's PPR with some
nominal return points (1pt for every 25KR yards or 15PR yards, no
fractions, so 49 KR yards and 29PR yards would just be two extra
    points...matters on a few guys).

    I have the 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.8, 1.9 and 1.10 rookies picks.

I offered, then revoked, then got offered back the following offer:

    Gronk/Cobb/DeMarco/J.Randle/1.1
    for
    Graham/Alshon/1.5 pick.

This owner wants Sankey, and when we were tegotiating (negotiating via text), he said he'd take the 1.2 if we could have a gentleman's agreement that I not take Sankey.  Then we both realized that it's me...and the odds of me keeping the 1.1 are - tenuous.

Anyway, he offered it back, and after discussing it with just two people, I took the deal.  Since then, everyone who has chimed in has been wholeheartedly against the deal.  I know I've stepped in it worse than this, but just wondering if perhaps I didn't make another faux pas.

Thoughts?  I'll defend the trade shortly, but just looking to get some quick input.

Well if he takes sankey it's really like trading the 1.3. You over paid but it all comes down to gronk.

Yeah, with very little research at this point, Sammy/Evans is who I want at 1.1/1.2, so I think I'll end up with them at 1.2/1.3 and then just have to see who goes at 1.4 before deciding on the 1.5 pick.  Maybe I shoudl offer up the 1.8 and 1.10 for the 1.4 and see if he bites.  :)

You know, I've always had a mancrush on Graham (and used to have one on Gronk).  They used to be my 1(a) and 1(b) picks at TE, on a tier to themselves.  Well, after owning Gronk and Graham in various leagues, I can safely say, for myself anyway, the Graham is on a tier to himself.  There is no 1a/1b anymore, just Graham and 1....then Gronk heading up Tier 2.  They aren't the same age (Gronk is 2-1/2 years younger), but age and football age are different, and Gronk is aging at an exponential rate in my eyes.

    Gronk....................vs.................Graham
    42/546/10............................31/356/5
    90/1327/17...........................99/1310/11
    55/790/11.............................85/982/9 (wrist injury year)
    39/592/4...............................86/1215/16

    226/3255/42..........................301/3863/41

So Graham has about 130pts more in their careers (933.3 vs. 803.5), but Gronk had a 60pt lead after their rookie years.  So in the last three years, Graham has outscored Gronk by nearly 200pts (basically 280/yr for Graham to 215/yr for Gronk).  Throw in multiple back surgeries for Gronk and the torn ACL/MCL compared to Graham's wrist dilemma/surgery in 2012), and I just think the chasm between the two is widening more and more each year.

Okay....starting to lay out my defense.  As was pointed out by a friend, though, Alshon put up most of his numbers AFTER Cutler was put on the shelf...will he only have eyes for Brandon again this year?  I think Alshon is a special talent, and I'm hoping that he continues the whole Julio-Roddy-esque situation this year...but I may be way off on him - hope not.

And, yes, I'm going to target mostly WRs.  I'm thinking I may well go WR/WR/WR with my first three picks (1.2, 1.3, 1.5) and then QB/RB/TE with my 1.8, 1.9, 1.10 picks.  Of course, it all depends on who falls where (but since I own six of the first 10 picks, a lot of that is up to me....:P

I think you gave up too much, but it shouldn't hurt you if you bring in Sammy and Evans. You still got the best player in the deal in Graham. I'd move up to get Hyde while you're at it.

Oh, and how I got them, Huddle....I trade a lot.

Trades (and what the 2014 pick ended up being):

    5/5/13 - Traded away 2013 1.10 and 3.12 2013 picks during draft for the 2013 2.6 and a 2014 1st that ended up being the 1.7.

    5/18/13 - Traded away Roeth, CJ Spiller, 2.8, 3.8 for DMac, R.Jennings, DeAndre Hopkins, C.Fleener, 1.2, 1.9

    9/19/13 - Traded away Fleener for 1.10

9/25/13 - Traded away J.Franklin (after that one big game), B.Powell, J.Stew, DWil, E.Royals, E.Sanders, J.Reed  for P.Harvin, 1.1 (***ding ding ding...we have our winner***) (this gave me half the 2014 1st round)

10/3/13 - Traded away DMac, TRich, DThomas, 1.7 (yeah, I actually traded away one future first rounder) for Calvin, CJ Spiller, C.Patterson

10/30/13 - Traded away RG3, Christine Michael, DeAndre, Cordarrelle, J.Thomas for DeMarco, Harry Douglas, Torrey Smith, J.Randle, J.Locker, M.Bennett and 1.3.  (Back up to 6 1sts, but this is the trade I regret most, I think...I had Gronk back so was trying to make a run at the title by getting guys like Harry and DeMarco who were tearing it up...think even Torrey had a few good games at that point)......gave up a ton of value in this one.  :(

So....I like trading, as it turns out.

I can sympathize.  I have the 1.1, 1.4 & 1.5 this year and have 5 of the 10 first round picks and 3 of the 10 second round picks next year.  I'm addicted to trading.

Gave up too much imo. I think Gronk/1.3 for Graham/1.5 woulda got it done.

Seems most still put Graham and Gronk at very similar values.  Guess I just don't fall into that category.

Hope he takes Sankey, though....'cause I want the WRs.
