12-team PPR / IDP going on 2nd year. Standard scoring EXCEPT RB /WR = 1 PPR and TE = 1.5 PPR

    Roster:

    QB (1): Wilson
RB (1-2): Bell, Vereen, Miller, Khiry
WR (3): Julio, Gordon, Hilton, Harvin, Hopkins, Britt, Dobson, Jordan Matthews
    TE (1-2): Graham, Julius, Adrien
    DE (2): Chandler Jones
LB (4): Carter, Freeman, Weatherspoon, Roach, Demario, Riley
    CB (2): Verner
    S (2): Vaccaro, Ihenacho

The positions highlighted in green are the ones I consider weak and need to fill with depth. I would like to draft a RB, but I don't like the landing position of most. My question is if a WR like Montcrief is available at 2.08, do I go WR with the depth I already have or look at filling my positional needs? Thanks!

Not many RBs are going to go somewhere as the definite #1 with no serious competition for touches (Like Bell and Lacy did last year...gotta keep poking at the Franklin supporters lol), but opportunity always arises.

Also Gordon is out and Harvin is never healthy, are you SURE you are set at WR?

I would go Moncrief or Carey/McKinnon if they are available....

Well I could always use more WRs given the situation around Gordon and injury concerns with Harvin, but I just don't consider that position as weak as others on my team. Thankfully I only start one RB, but if Bell went down I would be in serious trouble. I like Crowell, but I'm in a league full of Browns homers and I doubt he would be there in the 3rd round and I don't want to waste a high pick on him.

I think WR is the safest in terms of investment at the 2.08 but I just don't know if I should look at other positions.

Vereen is a stud but that is a tricky spot in NE.

That is a reach for Crowell....but better to get him at 2.08 than miss out on him later, right? if you think he will play then he is certainly worth a pick there (always go with YOUR gut, we can help and inform but make the decision for you...)

I like Carey or McKinnon there personally. Both are high upside backups with only bums on the team competing with them (Asiata LMAO).

I'm not so sure Marqise Lee isn't a great snag here is he is available either....

You also only have 1 QB....which QBs are available?

Hey Robby, thanks for getting back to me so quickly...I do have schaub and Glennon I just didn't list them. I like your recommendations...it's tough to tell who will be available. The draft is at 1.09 right now and I've had 3 drafts so far and players are going all over the place.

I will post with who's available when it gets closer to my pick...probably get a clearer picture then.

    My pleasure brother!

I see you took Mathews already which is awesome, love him!

Bridgewater could be a savvy pick if he lasts to 2.08...I'm sure Manziel is already gone but that would be amazing.

Keep us posted...I am VERY high on Carey and McKinnon and think those are good spots for them as well as the guys I mentioned in Lee and Moncrief (well you mentioned him forst lol).

Always be skeptical of someone who doesn't spell names properly and you KNOW it wasn't a mistake.

What else are they not noticing?

It's all in the details ;-)

Alright so here's an update. First I was wrong. I thought the draft was serpantine, but it's not. I have the 5th pick in every round. Secondly, this is the most atypical draft I've seen today! Running backs flying off the board and both manziel and bridgewater are gone. Even Mack was taken!

With two picks before me, here is a sample of who is available still: devonte adams, robinson, lee, benjamin, montcrief, Carey, McKinnon, Crowell, west, etc.

Lucky you!! Except the tough decision.

God this is tough!! I love Carey, am higher than most on Lee, can't even understand Benjamin being available, LOVE McKinnon though you could probably wait on him.....

you said RBs are flying off the board, yet WEST is still available?!?!?! He was the 2nd RB taken in one of my rookie drafts (WR and TE heavy) and picked right next to Freeman and Mason in the other (RB heavy)...

I think you go West or Carey here though, I believe in both of these guys and you need a RB.

UNLESS you can trade this pick for some value...maybe down a few spots and a 2nd next year or upside young RB...?

Yea Bishop and Hyde went early and then mason, hill, and devonta freeman went back to back to back. Benjamin is now off the board. Tough decisions being one pick away...ideally trading back a few and getting a 2015 2nd would be great...going to send out some feelers.

    Dig it!

Worst case you still get a high upside WR or High upside RB.....awful ;-)

Hey Robby, quick update. I tried to trade down to no avail, but I must say I'm extremely pleased with my draft so far:

    1.05 - Jordan Matthews
    2.05 - Davante Adams
3.05 - Colt Lyerla (big PPR bonus for TEs)
    4.05 - Ka'deem Carey
5.05 - Thinking of taking Pryor or McKinnon here if they are available.

As predicted, Crowell went at 2.08 and West at 2.11.

Great value on Adams. Can't believe Carey lasted that long! McKinnon at 5.05 is a good pick.

    Make that a 3rd!

I am much lower on Adams than most but can't argue with the BOOM potential of the landing spot.

Carey in the 4th is insane. Crazier than me getting Ellington that late last year.
