The sneaky play is investing in Bernard Pierce on the cheap and letting someone else overpay on Rice, although, if in the situation, owning both backs is still underrated IMO. Low-end RB1 potential, or at least high-end RB2 upside, but at the cost of a very low RB2.

It says he will get his chance to keep his spot. If someone comes in and goes for 200 3td n every game good luck. Or he comes back with a 2.3ypc his chance will gone.

Yep, that's why I like Pierce. Pierce is a beast, too. Forget last year, that wasn't his fault (Rice's either). I see a much improved rushing attack. Pierce has beast mode skills.

It will be an even split this year. Only based because Rice is the clubs vet. Much like how Fred Jackson was. Next year will be all Pierce

I like Pierce, but he hasn't done very much to prove this will be the case. I think Pierce is still the most likely to be Rice's successor, but don't sleep on Lorenzo Taliaferro. Not the most talented back in the world, but a perfect fit for Kubiak's system
    2014 predictions

(3/16) Toby Gerhart will have 1400 total yards and 8TDs
(3/16) Cobb will outscore Allen in PPR

If Rice shows up ready to play he will get his shot imo. If he's just a tiny bit "not ready" though and Pierce is carrying the load, then he will be the off the bench guy.

The Ravens touted him as one of the best performers at OTAs.

Kubiak is a positive for both backs.
