Browns running back Ben Tate will only lose his starting job if he gets injured? is rookie Terrance West a threat?

How many games does Tate Start this year? How many does West start? Who predicts a RBBC for most of the season.

I think West could very well be the future, but a 10TD season (as I state in the fantasy write up above) is certainly in the cards if Tate stays healthy.

I think Tate starts every game if he stays healthy. If he gets hurt, I see West or Crowell taking over full time.

Note: I don't expect him to stay healthy

Many dont. I could be wrong and he does get banged up fast, but I think he is tougher than people think. To me, and again I could totally be wrong, he proved toughness playing through the ribs, and he only sat out the year to ensure good health heading into contract talks/physical needing to be taken. He plays hurt even if banged up.

Ahh good ol June Talk. I don't care who you are, if your backup is playing better then the starter the starter will eventually lose the job. Anything coaches or even beat writers say now is just annoying IMO cuz he holds zero value.

Now, When Crowell is out there busting 7 80 yd TDS a game how they gonna sit that :)

Thought I remember him sitting out with something already...hope he is, I got West and Crowell with late 2nds of our recent dynasty draft!

I just don't see TWest or ICrowell challenging him this year. BTate biggest challenge won't be starting every game for the Browns, it will be the 8 men in the box forcing the Browns to throw. I would play BTate as a RB1 all day long with JGordon on the field, but with JGordon sidelined I consider him a RB2 at best. -Shmily ")

This is a non story. All this does is state the general consensus. I think it's a good bit of rookie fever to expect West/Crowell to unseat Tate this year. Tate's health is a big reason why the price of his backups is so high.

Ha. We all talk about what we agree with ;) human nature.

Well, I think the chances of Tate staying healthy the whole season are near zero. That's not to say he's not tough, he'll play through any injuries he can. I just think he'll have a more serious one that will cause him to miss at least 3-4 games. The Browns also seem high on West and Kyle Shanahan is a Shanahan, so I expect all 3 of Tate, West and Crowell to have good games this year. If you can get these guys for the right price, I believe the production will be there. My concern is that, at least fir dynasty leagues, Tate and West both have too high of values to get both. I've seen West going in the 1st rd in some leagues and having tried to trade for Tate, owners seem to want a 1st for him. Crowell you can get with an early 3rd sone times. So in dynasty leagues, I'm avoiding most of the time due to cost and roster space. However, in redraft, I've seen Tate's value go down because of West and West is reasonably priced due to Tate's presence. I think in those redraft leagues, these guys can be had for a value and have a good shot to give you the sneaky good production that Smitty has predicted.

Its because DC was high on West pre-draft as well, so when Cleveland drafted West it didnt compute with being so high on Tate and the collective's head exploded at the speed of light..
