The NFL wants SF to win. Why? Please enter...

SF will win going away. The NFL wants SF to win.

The NFL will make sure that the 49'ers win. How you say? By throwing a ton of flags, especially the 15 yard personal foul kind. Why? Because I'm a skeptic at heart and I believe everyone in the public eye has an agenda and those with money and power usually get their way.

    Chew on this:

This is the biggest stage the NFL has. The SuperBowl. What is the hottest topic going right now in the NFL that could cost them billions of dollars? CTE and the lawsuit of former players suing the NFL. What better way to show that the NFL cares then by throwing a ton of flags during the most public game.

The Baltimore Ravens defense leads the league in personal foul penalties by a huge margin. A matter of fact, the Ravens Defense (not including their offense or ST's) still lead the league in personal foul penalties even if you add up every other teams' offense, defense and ST's personal fouls. The Ravens are going to try to put a literal beating on SF and the NFL will not allow it, in this, the Grand Puba of spotlights.

So tomorrow, I believe, the refs have been instructed to throw flags, early and often, to show that the NFL cares. Yes it will slow down the game. Yes, it will probably lead to a very boring game. But the NFL won't care. People will still watch. People will still watch next year and in years to come. Advertising revenue will still flow through the NFL coffers regardless.

    The benefit:

It will help them save billions. How? Jury tampering at its finest. Who watches these games? Sure, hardcore fans watch, but so do their wives that don't watch a game all season. A matter of fact, millions of people that never watch football will sit down and watch this game, as they are surrounded by hardcore fans and listen to them bitch and moan about how the game is being ruined by bullshit penalties. The NFL...genius!

Now does this wholly mean that the 49'ers will win? I suppose not. However, using the Ravens track record as a barometer of how they win games, the Ravens' only shot at victory is to change the way they play defense. I mean if they lead the league in personal foul penalties when the refs aren't actually looking for it, imagine what the potential is for number of flags being thrown when the refs are being instructed to stop it at all costs. Will the Ravens adjust their style of defense after the 1st or 2nd flag? Maybe. But then their effectiveness goes out the window and SF will be able to march up and down the field almost at will. Sure, the 49'er defense will still have to stop the Raven offense, but they should be able to do so. The spread is SF -3.5 and I'll be taking the 49'ers all day long.

    Flame away.

if the NFL was against the Ravens I don't think they would have made some of those calls in the Denver game.

I don't know how slowing the game down will affect the lawsuit or what my wife thinks.

I do think the 49'ers will win the game!  but your theory is not what has me believing that.  I say relax & enjoy the game.............forget about your theory that Harvey Dent aka: Roger Goodell has this game fixed for his lawsuit...  peace out

It makes sense to say that the NFL would want to limit helmet-to-helmet hits, and thus instruct the refs to have a quick trigger on their flags.  They've been doing this for a while, and it could definitely negatively impact the Ravens.  But to say that they *want* SF to win, as if there is some kind of deeply embedded public perception of the Ravens as the 'anti-NFL' team I think is incorrect.

So if the Ravens lead the league in Personal Fouls how will we be able to tell if the NFL is throwing the game???  Come on man, get real.  Wish I could have that minute back that I spent reading this article.

Did they put cement in the Packers shoes as well, is that why Kaepernick flew by everybody?

I bet they hurt Manning so he would under throw that pass.

If you are such a skeptic and think it is rigged maybe you should juststop watching.

Ok I dont believe at all the game was rigged, but IF it were I think you got it backwards. That was a BS ending to a great SB. I know nobody wants a SB decided on a penalty, but a penalty is a penalty and it was obvious Crabs was held beyond 5 yards. Im just saying.....

The problem was poor play calling. 3 straight corner routes to the same WR?? Plus a bad time out... Gees Where was VD in that last drive? He bailed the 9ers out just like Boldin did for the Ravens. But nooooooooooooooooo....

Agreed. I couldn't believe how terrible the play calling was on the last 3 plays. With timeouts in hand AND wanting to run the clock, they didn't run the ball a single time in the last 3 plays. No option reads? No Gore up the gut at least once to see where you got? No VD? I was seriously upset about this. The fact remains that IMO it was obvious holding on 4th and goal, but better play calling probably would have kept that from happening in the first place.

Gore... How I feel for that man listening to the call in the huddle. He only brought you to the big dance, and now you give up on him. At least throw it to him, mix it up, do something different!!!

Agreed, they had that fake handoff counter to gore from the pistol that worked on the last TD.  Make Baltimore stop an effective play first before going away from it.  Should've been a qb draw called there somewhere too.

HArbaugh was upset about the 4th down no call, but no official is throwing a holding in the end zone on a 4th down play when the ball in real time looked overthrown anyway.  he screwed up the play calling there on the previous 3 downs.
