My 1st Trade of 2013

I traded:

Jaquizz Rodgers
2.6 pick

for

2.2 pick (12th overall)

I couldn't trade Jaquizz to the owner of SJax like I wanted (don't know why this owner was interested in jaquizz) and I wasn't going to keep a handcuff caliber player on my team and play the "I hope SJax gets injured so my guy can start" game. So in my book i traded 2.6 and a guy i wasnt going to keep for 2.2. I think I can get a very good prospect with the 12th overall, perhaps Eiffert (I hope) or I'll take Lattimore. I already own 1.1 and 1.3.

Looks good HellAtlantic. I like the idea of targeting Eifert as well.

Everyone says what a weak draft this is, but it's just not top heavy, it's deep. Lots of quality rookies to stash on your bench.

Wait, you traded Quizz/2.06 to move up 4 spots in the 2nd? It's an overpay but hey, if you think your guy will be there at 2.02 then cool. I just think Quizz could have netted you a better return.

argument could be made that throwing quizz back in requires him to burn his second on him anyway, so i would've wanted 2.2 for quizz and a third, not a second. think you overpaid but it's all well. certainly wont kill you:)

Why do you think that? I have Quizz on 2 teams. No one wants him. Not the Turner owners last year nor the Jackson owners this year. The 2.02 in a ten team league will probably net a decent rookie prospect, especially if it's Eifert.

I'm convinced that the falcons are convinced that quiz is nothing more then a complimentary back....jackson goes down then I think Snelling gets as many looks as quiz....I'm a Oregon native and have always LOVED quiz....but facts are facts...he simply isn't a nfl starting rb....now....using him to move up four doesn't seem like a lot....but it appears you did your homework and if your convinced that quiz is the difference in getting the guy you want and not in the gronk clone then I have no problem with the move....

Since I couldn't trade Jaquizz to anybody, I essentially moved up 4 spots in the 2nd round for nothing. When I traded for Quizz end of last yr I had higher hopes for him. ATL just don't want him to be "the guy". The 2.2 can become elite, sky's the limit. We've already seen Quizz's ceiling.

Dude.... Quizz is 23 y/o and has been in the NFL for two seasons. I would think that he still has some time to develop in the NFL at this point. Heck, he scored 150 points in one of my PPR leagues so he's far from worthless. That said, moving him and 2.06 to move up just 4 spots to the 2.02 is a bit much to give IMO. Also, what exactly has the player at 2.02 done in the NFL to date? Eifert this and Eifert that, there are no guarantees with rookies and there is no guarantee that the player he wants will be their at 2.02 either. If that happens, this move pointless. Again, just my opinion.

I have to agree with Doggie on this one, trading Quizz to move just 4 spots for an unproven player is pointless. I don't see Eifert lasting until the 2nd round by the way.

Based on your sig., your depth at RB is pretty weak at the moment. You did pay to move up 4 spots. It cost you Quizz/2.06, lol. Can't say you moved up four spots for nothing. Now, if you can't stand the guy then I get it but since no one wanted him, why not keep him for RB depth and see where it goes from there? Was anyone in your league interested in any of your other RB's? Maybe they could have moved you up 6 spots..........

I'm confused, why would he be required to burn a 2nd on Quizz when "no one" else wanted him, lol. Not even he wanted Quizz apparently.

Im not sure either will be there at 12, but i guess you can hope

Nice deal if moving Quizz and you didn't have a need for him.

I think Quizz is far too young to give up on especially in PPR.

I agree. Everyone is enamored by the "new" rookies sometimes and will toss away that vet right before he becomes something of value. When in fact, that rookie will become Quizz in two years and he himself will get traded for a 4 spot bump in the draft, lol.

If you are specifically looking for a bump at TE why not try trading Quizz for someone like Myers who went to the Giants or Martellus Bennet? At least you are getting value back in return for Quizz and a potential top 10 player at his position. If you can't get either of those guys how about buying low on Fred Davis?

The owner of SJax made an offer to me after I agreed to the other trade. Jaquizz for a 3rd round pick. PPR or not, jaquizz just isn't in enough demand in my league. Nice to hear other opinions though. I like my trade.
