    That Foster call was sick!

Cam Newton...He had Newton in the the top 5 going into the season and he took serious flak...Then Newton goes out and does it...Sick. And its harder for a rookie QB to do it then any other position.

Victor Cruz was unreal.  The guy was 4th on the Giants' depth chart to start the season.

Foster was a great call but Cam was better and much tougher to call IMO.

Did he predict Hilton as a stud before his rookie season or put him on the upside board? I cant remember.

    Foster,

He was buried in the depth chart, hardly known to many unlike the 1st draft pick Newton, that's just a toss up imo. Foster hasn't beaten expectations he's obliterated them. One guy turned a throwing first team into a run based team and the best one at that.

    Amazing call Smitty.

Turner for me... Calling it over a year out was VERY impressive...
Smitty kept saying he should be a starter so I spent a 2nd on him in 2007. Got laughed at.
He finished with 316 yards & 1 TD. Got laughed at.
Kept him as one of 7 RBs/WRs that year. Got laughed at.
1,699 & 17 TDs in Atlanta in 2008... No one was laughing anymore... Except me... :))

Newton was the only player I think though that we saw nothing of in the NFL and he was a top 5 guy as a rookie QB. Thats just crazy fr me. Someone said in their testimonial that Smitty was out on an island on that prediction unwavering and that is exactly right. He took more grief for that ranking than any other Ive seen.

Cam or Foster. THere si a run of WRs every year that emerge (no disrespect to the Cruz pick) but calling a rookie QB who everyone doubted, or a buried RB in Foster is where it is at.

What about the biggest misses? ;)

Cam Newton for me. Smitty was the only one who thought he would be successful. Newton went in the third round of every rookie draft I was in

Foster gets an honorable mention, only downgraded slightly because I think anyone can perform well in Houston's line and scheme

    That was me ;)

Foster hands down.  Cruz, Cam - hell of an honorable mention list.

He's going to talk me into Montee Ball, I just know it...

Well, on one of my teams I'm sitting quietly and will draft Dwayne Harris (Probably get him we my 2nd pick in the 2nd round of our draft)...  Thing is, I had him on my squad last year and it came to an end of year cut down and it was between him, Rod Streater and Edelman to cut and I cut Harris...

I've since trade Streater as part of a deal to get Brandon Marshall, so I'm itchin' to get Harris back...  Especially with an extra ooomph opinion from the resident guru here.. :)

I'm usually all over the newest news and the secret facts of the NFL.  Smitty proclaimed Ryan Grant as the starter of GB a week before he blew up, and I couldn't find the info anywhere about him becoming the starter.  It was amazing to me, and was a huge boost for a lot at the time FFX people who followed the news feed.
