I've posted about him before and a decent conversation was started but how do people feel about him now that the chargers drafted ZERO rbs when they were in position NUMEROUS times to add competition? this bodes well for Mathews to at least have one more chance to be the guy...has shown flashes but we all know its about him staying healthy...numerous players have had injury prone starts to careers then taken off...discuss
In a conference call with season-ticket holders, Chargers GM Tom Telesco
called Ryan Mathews a "playmaker" and said he expects "big things" from the
fourth-year running back.
JRMRRT said:So you bomb me for being high on guys with great upside that have yet to prove to be injury prone disappointments but you are high on a RB that has done just that? I think he will have a broken collar bone by week 3.

pemo said:An RB is only as good as his line - his upside is high RB 2. His upside does not beat out the cost to obtain him IMO.

I feel the exact same way...but Mathews is going quite a bit behind McFadden also
JRMRRT said:Mathews has gotten the opportunity before...more than once and failed. Im done with Mathews.

so your saying there's a chance?
FarFromHome said:he's been given the chance 3 times and 1 of those times had 1500 plus yards so to say he has failed EVERY time is simply untrue JR....
N_Diddy said:I agree with what you're saying FFH ... about value. If he falls to me, or is a throw in on a trade, I'd buy .... but I'm not paying high premium for him. I'd honestly want him as nothing more than a RB4 if I had him, and the minute he started putting up stats I'd trade him
cbssportsline take on it to throw in...
News: The Chargers official team website reports that general manager Tom Telesco said during a conference call with season ticket holders that he's a fan of running back Ryan Mathews. Telesco said Mathews is a great kid and works extremely hard. He liked Mathews when he with the Colts, and they game planned around him. The report says he expects "big things from the running back" this year.
Analysis: The jury remains out on Mathews and his Fantasy value for this season. He was a huge bust in 2012 and left a bad taste for a lot of Fantasy owners. Still, he's a starting running back for a team that should score points, and Mathews clearly has the backing of management and the new coaching staff. He should be considered a No. 2 Fantasy option coming into the season, and he's worth drafting as early as Round 4 in the majority of leagues.

even at rb3 if you draft rb-rb-wr-wr-qb seems okay to me...and at this point the Mathews hate is so strong nobody is paying any high premium for him...thanks for correcting jr I posted that before your correction...I just love going at the top dog with facts...lol...luv u long time
