Buccaneers | Coach not ruling out Mike Glennon starting

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano said he believes QB Mike Glennon can play quickly and has not ruled out the possibility of Glennon taking over the starting job over QB Josh Freeman. "We have a starting quarterback. It's not like we're looking to find a starter. But competition is competition. Mike Glennon is a fierce competitor. I knew that when he was coming out of high school. Now being able to work with him a little, you can see it on the practice field," Schiano said.

Sounds like what Pete Carroll was saying about Wilson at this time last year.

I think Freeman may be on a short leash - if he doesn't play every game like his best he may get yanked

Now is the time. He is on the final year of his contract.

Freeman should win that job pretty handily

this time 2 years ago I would agree Arty but watching the backslide of Freeman last year was painful at best - his timing, confidence and decision making all looked worse than or equal too his early years. I don't dislike the guy it's just that he has a lot of ground to make up if he wants to stay top dog in the yard

I think Freeman will win the starting job, but will not be the starter the entire season.

I think that the coaching staff has zero confidence in freeman

This was a done deal the second he got drafted. I said Glennon would prove to be the best rookie
QB this year and it didn't really matter where he landed. I still fully believe he is a starter this year.
