I don't think the rule changes forced this hit.  It was a low blow and completely avoidable.

The rule change absolutely forced that hit.  Had he gone high he would have been flagged, fined, and possibly suspended.  If you can't go high, you go low.

That was dirty as hell. Defenders always go low to try and bring down Gronk. Shame, that looked nasty. Goes to show you though what players say about the rule change, they'd much rather get hit in the head than a potential season/career ending low blow.

Gronk with a torn acl, the second victim of the rule change.

prolly right but mere speculation at this point....as to the hit....tough tough tough call....to say the new head rules didn't effect the way dude came into gronk seems silly....of course the rules did....its what the nfl wants....mission accomplished....but that angle at full speed right at the legs seemed like a bit much to bring him down....football is rough

I tried to trade AJG+ for Gronk/Jeffrey earlier this week. I'm glad the other owner declined.

I would still buy Gronk if his price goes down considerably after this. 6-8 games of his production is still valuable, as long as you arent paying for 16 games of production.
    2013 predictions

    -Cobb outscores Harvin in PPR
-Chris Ivory will be a top 15RB
-Kenny Britt finishes outside the top 20WRs

Keenan Allen returned to his game.

Unless his value drops like a rock I don't see the value in Gronk, Branch.  With guys like Reed, Clay, Cameron, Juice, Housler, Wright etc. I wouldn't bother.  He is as much a liability as he is valuable IMO.

Anyone hit like that would have gotten injured.  I'm going to be buying Gronk everywhere.
    Predictions

[ ] Percy Harvin will be a top 5 PPR wide receiver, outscoring Cobb
[ ] Danny Amendola will be a top 15 PPR wide receiver
[ ] Russel Wilson will be a top 4 QB
[ ] Denario Alexander will be a top 15 PPR WR

Gronk can recover from an acl fast, he isn't a hard cutter, but in general he can't stay healthy?

So heads and knees are the only targets on a tackle?  NFL has no choice but to regulate hits to the head because the science on concussions is producing an existential threat to the business of football.

dont think anyone is saying they are aiming for the knees but with the speed of the game going low equals more acl/knee and ankle injuries...DB dont get fined for thoses..
