Sanders reportedly verbally agreed with the Chiefs before he signed with the Broncos.

Airek said:I think it is entertaining to assume that an NFL executive is clueless simply because we don't see his vision - especially one who has been part of building Super Bowl winners. I prefer to assume the opposite - that Gettleman knows what he is doing in Carolina. From my point of view, he has done everything right so far. Steve Smith is no longer the player he once was. All good teams get rid of productive players before huge declines. Sometimes a year early, but they avoid over-paying for lower production. Neither Ginn nor LaFell are ever going to be anything more than depth players.
They acquired both McNutt and King last year. Both have excellent measurables. King was a fairly highly sought after player (Denver and Green Bay). Is it that much of a stretch to think that the Panthers expect either-or-both to step up this year, especially when McNutt is going into year 3 and King is going into year 2?
They are waiting patiently for the FA market to even out, and they will still be able to pick up a solid WR to add to the mix, all the names that have been previously mentioned. Now they add a rookie WR in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft that is deep in WR talent - and they are fine.
I don't have any special insight, but I find it effective to try to lay out what the team strategy seems to be by "connecting the dots" - and assuming they know what they are doing.

The Nicks & Cam show would have been sweet, just knowing that both party's need to prove what there worth this year. Isn't this Cams contract year too?

I don't mean to call you out on this, but what numbers would impress you? His combine numbers are 6'3" | 216 | 4.48 forty | 37.0 vertical | 10'2" broad. Each and every one of those numbers meet the "elite" profile.
