maybe smitty....but they have already F'd this up beyond belief....but could you possibly make it any worse?....well..sure you could by overpaying and locking up an average wr instead of just signing one of the many one year prove it deals to the ---britts...austins....holmes...rice....----etc...draft the position....1st round....2nd round...DRAFT it....if the panthers are smart they would realize they were dumb and move on....dont let the media force your hand

Sanders reportedly verbally agreed with the Chiefs before he signed with the Broncos.

Steve Weinberg just ruin any future deals with his other clients by pulling off this stunt. If I had him as my agent I'd want out now! No way is he going to be respected after this shady deal making!
My league is a non PPR 12 person league having a roster of 19 players each. Active roster includes 1Qb 2Rb's 3Wr's 1Te 1K 1Def. Two weeks before draft we cut the roster down to 9 keepers. My team as of now:
QB Nick Foles, Russell Wilson, Josh McCown
RB Lamar Miller, Shane Vereen, Zac Stacy, Cierre Wood
WR AJ Green, Julio Jones, Josh Gordon, Rueben Randle, Kenny Stills
TE Z Ertz, M. Bennett, Delanie Walker
    DEF Kansas City, Cleveland
    K Steven Hauschka

Yes! I was hoping CAR would get a Tackle in FA and address the wr position in the draft
    Bold Predictions:
Cordarelle Patterson replaces Josh Gordon in the top 5 WR group.
(Julio, Calvin, AJG, CP, and Dez)

Andre Williams proves himself to be the best RB in this class, by having the most productive rookie season of all the rbs.

Car needs to sit back and let the other teams send their money, and bring in a guy on a 1 or 2 year deal on the cheap.

I think it is entertaining to assume that an NFL executive is clueless simply because we don't see his vision - especially one who has been part of building Super Bowl winners. I prefer to assume the opposite - that Gettleman knows what he is doing in Carolina. From my point of view, he has done everything right so far. Steve Smith is no longer the player he once was. All good teams get rid of productive players before huge declines. Sometimes a year early, but they avoid over-paying for lower production. Neither Ginn nor LaFell are ever going to be anything more than depth players.

They acquired both McNutt and King last year. Both have excellent measurables. King was a fairly highly sought after player (Denver and Green Bay). Is it that much of a stretch to think that the Panthers expect either-or-both to step up this year, especially when McNutt is going into year 3 and King is going into year 2?

They are waiting patiently for the FA market to even out, and they will still be able to pick up a solid WR to add to the mix, all the names that have been previously mentioned. Now they add a rookie WR in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft that is deep in WR talent - and they are fine.

I don't have any special insight, but I find it effective to try to lay out what the team strategy seems to be by "connecting the dots" - and assuming they know what they are doing.

The Nicks & Cam show would have been sweet, just knowing that both party's need to prove what there worth this year. Isn't this Cams contract year too?

McNutt's measurables at the combine were not overly impressive.

I don't mean to call you out on this, but what numbers would impress you? His combine numbers are 6'3" | 216 | 4.48 forty | 37.0 vertical | 10'2" broad.
Each and every one of those numbers meet the "elite" profile.
    C. Newton | S. Bradford
    L. Bell | T. Richardson | K. Robinson | D. McCluster | M. Ford | D. Lewis
    D. Bryant | C. Patterson | P. Harvin | L. Fitzgerald | A. Dobson | D. Rogers | A. Roberts | M. Goodwin | K. Britt
    M. Bennett | L. Green | J. Cook

I dont think Cam has to prove anything. He turned the worst team in the league into a playoff contender with not much around him on offense. I do realize the defense is really good too.

I was wrong. I was going off memory and after checking, my memory failed me. I didn't remember his measurables being that impressive. The only thing that I found that was a little different was his forty (4.54), but even that is pretty solid. I thought he ran like a 4.67. To quote Andy Pettitte, "I misremembered"!
