Is Russell Wilson dead Weight?

What is everyone's feelings towards Russell today? The fact he's more of a game manager like Alex Smith is and a Quarterback that's on a run first team are big concerns you want out of a QB. Having Harvin and Kearse as his only WR threats has got be worry some. Though the one thing I do like about a Wilson is he's a safe player to put in on a Bye week given that he's smart with the ball and doesn't throw Int's which you got to like. I do like his running ability to gain yards but he's no Cam Newton when near the goal line. I've tried to trade him with no success in my cookie league and now wondering what I should do with him? Drop him keep him over Stills or Miller is my question to myself. Who is more dead weight in your eyes as a observer chiming in?
My league is a non PPR 12 person league having a roster of 19 players each. Active roster includes 1Qb 2Rb's 3Wr's 1Te 1K 1Def. Two weeks before draft we cut the roster down to 9 keepers. My team as of now:
QB Nick Foles, Russell Wilson, Josh McCown
RB Lamar Miller, Shane Vereen, Zac Stacy, Cierre Wood
WR AJ Green, Julio Jones, Josh Gordon, Rueben Randle, Kenny Stills
TE Z Ertz, M. Bennett, Delanie Walker
    DEF Kansas City, Cleveland
    K Steven Hauschka

he never was going be a top 8 qb on a regular bases...better real life than FF QB..will never put up the numbers unless there is a coaching philosophy change..JMHO

I remember they said alot of this about Brady for a while before Brady got Welker and blew up.

Russel is a talented qb.  I don't put him in the same tier as a "game manager".  Game managers don't take risks and rarely throw more than 5 yards downfield.  Russel will chuck it up if he has to, has a good mid range and deep ball, and can create with his legs when needed.

I agree he's not a stud fantasy qb, but i think he's a high upside qb2.  I definitely don't want him as my 1 in anything smaller than a 14 team league, but i think he has alot of upside.  He's the type of guy that can break out with a good wr, maybe that's a healthy harvin

I agree with this, but don't just drop him. I'm sure you could get a late 2nd round pick for him. Another option is to hold him until the season starts and wait for a QB to get hurt or lose his starting gig.

Maybe offer him to the Cam owner as insurance after his surgery.

already went down that road and was denied by asking for a 2nd round pick. May try again later in the summer to see if they are still confident with their stance on Cam.

100% disagree with the Wilson portrayal. He has been top 10 first 2 years. Last year I believe he was 8 or 9, without Harvin, Rice, Miller and 2 pro-bowl O'linemen. No QB in the league could have managed top 10 without his entire starting WR/TE lineup and O'linemen. This year he shoots to top 6. Top 3 admittedly unlikely, but top 6 year I, year out for nearly a decade, with off the charts consistency is my call on Wilson. He isn't dead wait, he is superstar tier 1-b.

I like Wilson as well, but not this much. He quietly has produced two top 10 seasons without many weapons, on a run first team, with a stout defense. He has been very effective at generating fantasy points despite these obstacles. He should only get better as weapons are put around him, the defense begins to rebuild, and Lynch is gone. Expect another top 10 season this year, but 2015 and beyond he could be top 6-8. Top 6 next yr is not gonna happen imo. Peyton, Rodgers, Luck, Foles, Brees, Stafford easily have better seasons then him I think. He falls in the lower rankings of the Brady, Ryan, Romo, Rivers, Kap, RG3 tier.

he has been a top 10 qb for 2 years now with WAY less opportunities then the other qbs...hell he was 22nd in the league in passing attempts last year....having said that he was still a top ten fantasy qb so its real easy to say that we have only seen wilsons floor due to him still scoring solid points with limited attempts....youd have to think that his natural progression would lean towards at least a slight bump in attempts....16 games from harvin would really really help

Beef up a RB just a touch, even if just a little, using Wilson.

that is what I've been trying to do but nobody wants Wilson in my cookie league. This why I'm asking you guys. I would thought it would have been easy to move or flip him but I guessed wrong. Not giving up just need to rethink my strategy.

    Wilson - dead weight.

    Cam - dead weight.

Can't trade them, can't drop them. Can't use them half the time. Yes, both of them screwed me last season when I had to use them due to injuries to my starters.

Keep Wilson. Drop a d or cierre wood but don't drop Wilson.

Stating Wilson as dead weight is wrong. Stating Cam is dead weight is laughable Dax. Just hold Wilson if u don't get proper value in return.

Cam is one of the top playmakers in the league. 6"5 250 & is a threat anytime on the field. Especially to run it in himself from the red zone. Lost a tough playoff game but I'm buying if price is right.

im not attacking by any means cause we all have our own opinion....but....i think you need to look at where cam has finished every year in qb rankings....last year was obviously his worst season to day fantasy wise and he was still 2 more tds passes away from 5th....dead weight?

Again, Wilson didn't have Harvin, Rice, Miller, 2 pro-bowl o-linemen!

Absolute rubbish to judge his season accurately while playing with the JV
