fair enough...maybe he should rephrase the comment to dead weight when it matter...lol....i can buy that....but why didnt you post the numbers for cam week1 through week13? or mention that cam had 20 plus 10 times this year?....dead weight?

I dont understand this logic at all. Because a guy doesnt produce 1 year in the fantasy playoffs hes dead weight? 2 years ago Cam went for 39, 17, 21 in weeks 14-16.  Drew Brees put up 13 points week 16 this year. Forte had 8 points week 16. AP put up 2, 0, 5 points weeks 14-16...is he dead weight? 3 weeks does not make a fantasy season or career. Every player will disappoint in weeks 14-16 at some point.

I don't agree that Wilson or Cam are dead weight because they have value to others owners. They are just QBs I don't like owning. I like QBs that pass the ball more and a more likely to be consistent throughout the year. So I don't value Cam or Wilson high at all but they are definitely not dead weight, no matter where you own them because they could possibly be the piece that helps you upgrade at some point in a trade when packaged with another player.

Doesnt that kind of depend on the format though. In a 6 point per passing TD with good points for passing yards you are right...But, in 4 point for passing yards and leagues with low points for passing yardage Cam and rushing QBs have a lot more value.

Yes I should state that I play in leagues where passing and rushing TDs are worth 5 points, so they really even out and it is a matter of preference.

I play in a league that gives really low points for passing yards and 1 point for every 10 yards rushing so Cam has a lot of value to me in that format. 1 pt per 25 passing yards and 6 points all TDs then I totally agree with you.

7 times in my league. and two of them were for 20 and 21 points. so that's 5 starts where he produced like a top 5 qb. if you can't depend on your qb for consistent points he's pretty much useless to you.

cam is the ridley of qbs. produces top 10 points for the season but damned if you know which game the points will come.

dead weight is the wrong term, supremely overrated is the correct term.

2 years ago is an eternity ago, you can't depend on the guy.

brees used to be match up proof but moving forward i will have to be more selective of when i play him. must play at home but on the road he is no good against the better defenses.

adp always seems to get injured late in the season for the last 3 years. will seriously have to start thinking about benching him come finals time moving forward if he has any sort of injury concern.

Well referring Wilson as dead weight is accurate in my league given the point system we have and whether I should even keep him over certain guys on my roster. Getting Foles makes deciding this a lot easier. If Wilson got some more WR's I would feel about him though.
My league is a non PPR 12 person league having a roster of 19 players each. Active roster includes 1Qb 2Rb's 3Wr's 1Te 1K 1Def. Two weeks before draft we cut the roster down to 9 keepers. My team as of now:
QB Nick Foles, Russell Wilson, Josh McCown
RB Lamar Miller, Shane Vereen, Zac Stacy, Cierre Wood
WR AJ Green, Julio Jones, Josh Gordon, Rueben Randle, Kenny Stills
TE Z Ertz, M. Bennett, Delanie Walker
    DEF Kansas City, Cleveland
    K Steven Hauschka

Dax I'm trying to phrase this gently...but in not sure how...

You are entitled to your own opinion, but right now your opinion is wrong. If you want to trade cam for an upgrade at another position- fine. If you want to say that you'd feel safer with a more conventional qb leading your team- I can understand that. But to call either of them dead weight OR supremely overrated is the type of bias that loses people leagues. I'm not trying to embarrass you bud, but your type of thinking right now is what I LOVE to see in my league mates. You aren't being very objective...I could pull out a 3 weeks span where literally ANYONE didn't play well...
    Bold Predictions:
Cordarelle Patterson replaces Josh Gordon in the top 5 WR group.
(Julio, Calvin, AJG, CP, and Dez)

Andre Williams proves himself to be the best RB in this class, by having the most productive rookie season of all the rbs.

If the only players that have value are the guys that put up huge numbers all year especially in weeks 14-16 without looking back even one year then your players pool is very small and shrinking every season, lol. A handful of players are truly consistent every week. Most are inconsistent. Look at the numbers more closely. Hope you didnt need DT week 14 cause he put up 8. Calvin put up 8, 15, 7 in weeks 14 - 16. Pierre Garcon put up 28 and 34 weeks 15 and 16...he must be the best player in the league. And I hope you dont play in leagues with mandatory TEs, LOL...Those guys are FFAARR from consistent. Even Graham put up a 4 in week 15. V Davis dropped a goose egg in week 16.

Of coarse he was...lots of guys were and lots werent, but what happened in those 3 short weeks of just last year doesnt determine the overall value of all players and we both know it. Its crazy to think otherwise like is being stated above.

No I know. I wasn't disagreeing, just stating that garçon was a pleasant surprise in the playoffs. Who would have thought that d Jax and garçon would give me one of the best wr1/wr2 combos last year :D

Good thing you had those elite guys instead of that dead weight bum Calvin Johnson who put up 8, 15, 7 weeks 14-16. LOL. Welker didnt even play those weeks...he must be the worst player in the league this year.

Qbs are just hard to trade in general, as there is quite a high number of starting caliber guys available.
