In my research I had a couple UDFAs catch my eye.

As we all know the most talented players don't necessarily get drafted earliest, and sometimes not at all.

I first was drawn to Fluellen's measurables:

5-11 224lbs the guy has nice size

4.66 Forty Time Not insanely fast, but far from slow for his size

    10'00" Broad Jump
36.5" Vertical Wow this guy is pretty damn explosive, especially for a big guy!

3 Cone drill 6.90 Ok this guy definitely is shifty and agile

I started watching his combine and game tape and saw a couple things that really blow me away:

The guy has VERY quick feet and gets his knees high when he runs....these are traits that I love.
He is a natural hands catcher, he does not wait for the ball to hit his body, he snatches it with his hands when the opportunity prevents himself, quickly tucks the ball and runs.

He doesn't dance, he takes what is blocked and goes North-South and can break tackles.

Those measurables are fine you say, right?

RobbyRob, there are plenty of guys whose numbers look pretty good, and tape looks ok, but the guy went undrafted, why? What makes him worth a flier.

    Two Words: Chip Kelly

Well it's not THAT simple, but it's a huge part of it.

Chip Kelly likes to run. A LOT! LeSean is entrenched as the workhorse in PHI and he does have the electric Bryce Brown as his.....oh no wait they traded him....but Chris Polk was once highly touted and....oh wait, He just underwent SHOULDER SURGERY the same issue that took him from the #3 ranked RB in his class to also being undrafted.

So as I look at it, he essentially could play his way into being the 2nd RB on this team. Sproles is not a RB, he is a weapon. Kelly is going to want a between the tackles, short yardage, Goal Line type runner in tow.

I am not positive Polk will be ready to go, and if Fluellen starts looking good in the preseason the Eagles can afford to let him fully heal, slowly.

The guy caught a LOT of balls at Tulane, is a GREAT pass protector (oh yea I forgot that part, pretty huge to the whole playing time thing), and knows how to play,

I highly recommend him as a late-round flier or FA pickup.

I tried to avoid this as he is the de facto sleeper COMP but here it is:

    Alfred Morris
    5'10
    219
    4.63 Forty
    9'09 Broad jump
    35.5" Vert
    7.01 3 Cone

These numbers are insanely close.  They both also had 16 reps at 225.

Nice name, Since you mentioned him I went and watched some of his tape I could find. Since I go off tape and never off numbers.

Vs Eastern Washington He had great numbers and great runs, a couple of nice runs a liked but mostly looked like just poor defense to me.

His tape Vs Florida was likely a little more realistic, A couple nice things I saw, a lot of small nothing plays, but the O line didn't do him a lot of help.

I will say 1 pro is he can catch the ball, they have him catching in the flats, and lining up in the slot quite a bit which is a good thing, esp for on the Eagles.

the 1 con i will give him is his Pass Protection, that said I'm not sure if he can't do it? I rarely saw him try, it seemed most of the passing plays they had him run a route. Not sure if this was because he can pass protect or thats just what they wanted to do with him.

All that said, great name to watch but he still has Shady & Sproles in front of him. Doubt he sees much time.
    My 2013 Predictions:
    [:(] C.J. Spiller Will Be The #1RB(Jan 9th)
[XXX] Demaryius Thomas will be the #1 scoring WR!(Feb 13th)
[XXX] Trent Richardson will NOT finish as a Top 10 RB!(June 4th)
    [:(] Rob Housler will be a Top 5 TE in 2013!(July 18th)
[XXX] Josh Gordon will put up a 80/1200/10 stat line in just 14 Games!(Sept 5th)

    I covered that.

I also covered how Sproles doesn't count as a RB in front of him to me...

The UF tape I saw the same things, the problem is they were ALWAYS playing from behind. he had 2 good runs, but was met in the backfield constantly...he does throw a couple real nice blocks to free up a screen and looks to have good awareness.

I understand the negatives, and I am not saying take this guy in the first 2 rounds of a rookie draft. This is a late round flier, especially if you have Shady or a need to have a developing RB on the bench.

Excited to watch him in preseason!!

Would you say you're flabbergasted at the fact he gave positive feedback?

I appreciate the heads up. If he makes it to the 4th in a current rookie draft, he is the perfect candidate for the young team I am building. Can anyone spell "taxi squad"?

    My Pleasure!!

I actually took him and hoped to get Gaffney a couple picks later (took Gaffney first in another league) but couldn't risk not getting Fluellen....love his total package and situation.

I have a couple more sleepers that have a great skillset, a couple also have situtions I really like as well I will be posting soon (once I pick and drafts are over LoL).
