"Josh Gordon Trade Strategy" in Keeper/Contract Leagues

    Ok, so if you own Josh Gordon in dynasty, you almost have to sit tight and hold him, as he still has monster dynasty value to go along with his monster risk. 

    In contract leagues...

    So, I was sitting strong heading into our Rookie/Vet Draft with:

    I have the1.02 pick... I was targeting Nick Foles (FA), Keenan Allen (FA) or Mike Evans. I was going to go Foles, since all other good QB are taken/on teams (and that owner has Cam, so he is for sure letting Foles go)... I don't have a 2nd round pick.

    QB: 
    RB1: LeSean McCoy (60/ 2yrs)
    RB2: Montee Ball ($22 / 1yr)
    WR1: Dez Bryant (54 / 2yrs)
    WR2: Josh Gordon ($16 / 2yrs)
    WR3: 
    Bench: Christine Michael ($1 for 3 years the moment i elevate him from the Practice Squad)
    (no TEs)

    (no TEs)

    Then, the Gordon news breaks...

    My Plan:

    1. Get a hold of the Nick Foles owner, who has Cam Newton and is letting Foles go into FA (only option would be to franchise him at an insanely-high top 5QB avg value, which I clearly am on board for paying this year. I am a believer. 
    2. I offer that owner Gordon for Foles, so that I can franchise him.
    3. I use my 1.02, which was going to be spent on Foles, and draft Keenan Allen (Who I sign to 3 years). I wanted Foles for 3 years, but I have Foles for 1 and Allen for 3 vs just Foles for 3 via my 1.02.

    New team by trading Gordon for a Foles/franchised.

    QB: Nick Foles (franchised at prob 40+, but I have good amounts of cap room)
    RB1: LeSean McCoy (60/ 2yrs)
    RB2: Montee Ball ($22 / 1yr)
    WR1: Dez Bryant (54 / 2yrs)
    WR2: Keenan Allen ($tba / 3yrs)
    WR3: 
    Bench: Christine Michael ($1 for 3 years the moment i elevate him from the Practice Squad)

    Of course Gordon is a steal at 16 bucks for 2015 (with franchising rights), but I backed myself in an impossible corner loading up on just 4 big guns and the 1.02.... had to back into something else, and Nick Foles and Keenan Allen for Gordon, home run IMO.
