    The Houston Texans have named Ryan Fitzpatrick the team's starter for 2014. Is this good for Arian Foster, Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins?

    Fitz-P can sling it pretty good.  I don't think this hurts AJ & Hopkins from their options last year @ all.

    I think its better for them. He locks on guys and forces them the ball.

    after what HOU had last year, I don't think any qb could lower the value of AJ or Hopkins.

    There are just 2 things lowering AJs value:  father time and himself (the second part he could end by ending his holdout...although his value would jump dramatically if he were traded to a team with a stud QB, but that won't happen)

    I agree with Huddle - Fitzpatrick is a serviceable QB - stats as 2 year starter - this can feed a couple of WR's for a season:

    Be sure to read the news posts when they autopost like this. The real fantasy take and analysis is in the actual news post, not the one line you see above. I speak to the stats we are all talking about, he is abotu 3400-3800 and 24TDs capable, no doubt!

    Thank you.  I don't think Fitzpatrick can do any worse than any previous QB HOU trotted out on to the field last season.  That said, all of the defenses playing HOU this year will love Fitzpatrick.

    When HOU's season is in the tank I'd be surprised if they didn't go to Savage as the starter. I think that would be a downgrade to both their stats at first.

    Fitz is hardly the answer.  I think they named him starter, just to create some stability as they head into camp next month.  Fitzpatrick often starts off well, end then loses his confidence as the interceptions pile up.  He gives you hope with 3 weeks of solid production, which is typically followed by mediocre numbers.

    He's only a place holder until Savage can prove he's worthy.  If Savage can't make a legitimate challenge for the starting spot at some point of the season, the Texans will draft a starter next year.

    I really think this move takes some pressure off of Savage, as some of the pressure to be the starter has been taken off of him, and he'll be allowed to progress at his own pace.

    I think Fitz is a respectable guy for the situation but he does lock on and for AJ if he plays along will do his normal numbers like last year. I think Fitz increases my negative conspiracy theory Hopkins ends with concussion early.
    I don't trust Adam Schefter and neither should you!!!

    Oh yeah I don't expect Fitz to be pinpoint accurate. I thought you meant you Fitz is the worst guy on the team to be throwing to him.

    I agree. Fitz always starts hot. Once it hits October he cools off big time
