As I said in the comments of the last Lynch News Wire post, I keep hearing "he can't be had" etc, etc, but as I said in that topic, you can't go get him one for one in many cases. Who would trade him away in the middle of all this news? You need to distract and throw him into a bigger deal, a deal you like of course.
For example, I laugh at anyone coming to get Michael alone. I don't even consider offers, even before I read them. But, one offer was where i had a borderline WR1 and was offered Calvin if I include Michael. I didn't do it, but i all of the sudden started thinking, man, my line up this year!!!! That's how you try, not always successfully, to steal Michael away. Feed the owner's need to win now in a bigger deal.

Yeah, this could work in the right situation. The problem with this theory is that you're giving up much more valuable players to acquire Michael. Am I willing to downgrade my studs in order to get Michael on my roster? Nope. Some people would be ok with that. Not me though.
I think that unless the Michael owner is living under a rock, you're going to pay through the nose to get Michael, one way or another. You're probably going to pay a bit less for Michael himself in a package deal, but then you're moving much more valuable pieces to make it happen.

And although I do agree that Lynch may only have two more solid seasons left max, I feel like this year(2014) he will have a MONSTER year and do whatever it takes to lead the league in rushing. Why? He's hungry for one more big pay day... It probably won't be with SEA in 2015(CMichael) , but a team like NE, who's known for bringing in stud RB's in the twilight of their careers could offer him a very nice 1 year deal. That should be enough for Lynch to leave it all out on the field for 2014.
So if you're a Lynch owner, instead of shopping him and settling for less than value, build around him for a championship run in 2014!

Says the man who did everything in his power to trade lynch a month or so ago...
Had someone traded with you, would this post still be about lynch, or the player u traded for?

I think Turbin has a chance to turn it into a nasty RBBC that people will want to avoid. Thats my fear. I think Michael people are overlooking Turbins ability way too much. Theres a little tunnel vision happening there.

Will he take some carries? Sure.. But nothing more then the average backup rb gets IMO.

Turbin has almost identical measurables to Michael and both are very young.

Measurables yes, but I for one don't go off those much. I just personally haven't been in awe of anything Turbin has done, granted some games he only gets a few carries and it's hard to get going but I just haven't seen anything to be impressed with. Sure you can easily say the same for Michael but I was high on him coming out of college so I guess I'm biased.

Im not really disagreeing with you. Im not saying that Turbin will win the job and be a stud. Just that there is definitely a good possibility given the age and strengths of the 2 backs and how similar they are that it becomes an ugly RBBC. Even if its for nothing less that to keep the 2 RBs fresh.
