What happened to Alshon Jeffery?

Does anyone know how he did in the combine? What do you guys think of this kid?

he weighed in at the combine, nothing more, nothing less.

he did extremely well at his Pro Day though. The big issue with him was he showed up in a picture that was taken just preseason and he looked like a chubby bubby, i.e. too much of mama's cookin' over the summer, and then combined with a crappy season, his stock fell through the floor.

He showed up at the combine weighing 216 after reports of him ballooning up to 245 or something ridiculous surfaced. he didn't run, but he ran a few weeks later at his pro day and did great.

4.48, 36.5" vert, 10'2 broad, 4.17s shuttle, and a pretty ridiculous 6.71 3-cone.

so now he's back into 1st round contention.

as for my thoughts, he's a ridiculously sticky-fingered high pointer. Red Zone threat like nobody's business. He single-handedly knocked Fonzie Dennard out of the 1st round CB discussion. Get Jeffrey on a team with a QB who can hit the fade, and he'll be money. Just make sure you have a weight clause in the contract (that's good advice for any Pro Team that signs him...free of charge...you get great things like that here!)

This is why Im down on the kid. I dont think Id use a 1st round pick on him. Maybe a late one if hes drafted to a good situation.

the report was BS tho, that's the thing. It came out about a week before the combine, so unless Jeffrey dropped 30 pounds in under a week (and then kept it off this whole time), it was just a pile of baloney.

i feel that jefferson could be a beast, but is the work ethic there is the question...if he gets in there and works his tail he could very good...ala big mike williams,Dez to a lesser extent..instead of trying to get by on talent alone..

I don't think he will work though. A lot of the reports I've seen is, he is kind of a diva. Just thinks things will come to him because of his talent alone.

I highly doubt he goes in the first rd though

I see mid to late 2nd round at best. I'm really not high on the guy at all.

Hard to agree with someone from Wisconsin but I don't think he amounts to much at next level.

there's tons of questions, but ultimately you're talking about a guy who produced against SEC competition with some painfully crappy QBing

it'll be up to the team's front office to interview extensively and find out where his head is at. If it's facing upward and he's ready to play ball, then he's worth a 1st rounder easily. If it's firmly emplanted within his colon, then yeah, go ahead and DND
