What's up with Stafford?

Not sure if this thread should be in the bust category, but.... I'm askeered

Look at all the pass only teams

Gb, ne, det, nos.. When ur one dimensional teams start to adjust.. Also this passing only is killing their defenses, no time to rest

agreed, that's why the new option QB's in the NFL now are having so much success. Win the time of possession battle, stay balanced, which keeps your Def fresh.

What's up with Stafford? Brees and A-Rod have both started off slow too.

Also...The defenses had an offseason to get much better prepared this year. I think not having an offseason was a big advantage for the offenses last year. Teams better start running the ball more.

DET tried last night to run the ball, but not the team to try and run against.

Stafford looked off. He was missing some throws by a country mile.

I think we are muddying things here a bit. And I feel that most are independent of one another

Brees has thrown for over 300 in two games. It's safe to assume we can attribute some of the problems in NO to no Sean Payton.

NE in part is due to the OL problem I believe, Rodney Harrison even touched on it last night on the pre game show. Brady is running for his life at times....but they have actually run the ball ok...125 for Ridley in game one and close to 100 in game 2 (where they were playing from behind). Brady was up over 300 tho in game two.

I think some of these are a function of defenses, others are situations.

To some extent I think you are right JR, but having played ball before it takes the offenses longer to click then the D, but it could be that D takes a bit to catch up as O tosses new wrinkles at them.

i think we all thought that 2013 was going to be the year of the qb where like 8 qbs get 4500-5000 yards. i think 2012 was an anomaly and guys are coming back to earth. compared to what his counterparts are doing, stafford isn't really doing that bad

He had a good first game after the 1st half of INTs.

I watched almost all of last night and he didn't seem accurate. Someone started a thread last week....I think Doggie saying he was worried. I know what he means now....he just was missing guys and inaccurate. He needs to get comfortable throwing to guys other than Calvin....because teams are going to do their best to take him away.

Yeah, it was me and I still am worried. I just don't think his accuracy is there and not all WR's can be Calvin. That second pick was thrown directly to the SF DB and there wasn't a Detroit WR within 10 yards of that pass. I understand running a wrong route but Stafford was staring down that DB the whole time and still threw the damn ball.

Im not sure when or at what level you played ball but Im guessing it wasnt recently or in the NFL. The Nfl is a pass happy league now with some spread offenses and no huddle so defenses need to be better prepared and conditioned. Not to mention the QBs now that are mobile and can throw. Heck, you have a team running a QBBC to some extent, lol.

I will agree that Stafford was throwing some bricks last night. But RG3 was noticably poorer vs the rams than he was week 1. is it possible the rams just have a good defense?

Coupled in with playing 2 supposedly good defenses (49ers shut down rodgers too) along with having no running game, i think DET is just going through a tough spot. Wait till they get a few games versus minny in lol

I only care about MY players and I am worried about how badly Stafford was throwing. :-((

I am going to win again with Stafford only putting up 14+ yet again. But, I don't know how long this will continue

What are you saying JR that I'm old??!! HAHA...I agree with you in that regard that offenses lead the charge and defenses are always reactionary.

+1 I think we are finding out that Fisher is doing a decent job in STL and SF has a good D for sure. Hopefully that is all it is with Stafford
