Ingram/AJG relation

I know it's only been a year, but with Peyton being out and Brees not having a contract, and Ingram sitting in RB purgatory in NO, considering this discussion was had about AJG or Ingram being the #1 last year, do we consider Ingram a bust IF he doesn't get 1000 yards this season?

Is Ingram really a bust if he doesn't get 1000 yards while competing for touches with PT & Sproles? This one is tough to call for me because of the situation in NO. I would be happy to see him just increase from 122-474-5. Is 175-900-9 a bust?

until sproles or thomas is gone he will never get the chance to be the man guy there so bust is strong word for not getting the chances( but i would think if he was the best back in NO he should work his own way into the lineup)..i wait until this next year to see how NO use him..but consider those that drafted him as a cowbell bust could be applied..

...and no one is calling Spiller a bust. This past season was his 2nd year and he 561 rushing yards.

It also took McFadden a few years to get going so I think Ingram still has time

I won't apply the B-Word to Ingram. But, at least for the moment, I'm glad he didn't fall to me at 1.03

Well, obviously not saying he's an NFL bust, but possibly a fantasy bust. But I think any fantasy owner who spends 1.1 on a RB wants to see 1000 yard seasons in the first few years. We're still learning that RBs can take a few years to develop, so fantasy owners might not have patience to wait on guys like Ingram or Spiller

and 1.01 RB doenst mean elite stud anymore either.

Hes prob down on Vick. I think hes gonna have a huge season if hes stays healthy. Big if of coarse.

I hear what you're saying fontaines and I took Ingram at 1.01 last year in one of my leagues (I also took AJ Green at 1.02 in the same league, lol) but in no way was I expecting much from him last year. If someone drafted Ingram last year expecting 250-1400-12 then they are insane. This year, I am expecting more from him but I also know that his situation in NO is quite a bit different than if he were to land on a team without the same mess as the NO backfield. I really think that's where the problem begins and ends with his stats (injury aside). Sharing those touches with one back is one thing but sharing with two is completely out of the norm IMO.

I will be happy with an increase in last years stats with the hope that the powers in NO start using him as the primary runner. If this doesn't happen by year 3 or 4 then I will regret drafting him at 1.01. We shall see.......

us sewart owners are still holding out hope so i see no difference in ingram for now. they need the carries but are not getting them.. so bust is hard to apply to them.. even spiller since they have produced when given a chance..

I think Ingram needs to have a season as a workhorse before we make a judgment of bust status. Moreno is a monster bust, but we just finally came to that conclusion near the end of the 2010 season. After we was unable to produce when given the chance.

Interesting take everyone. What i was trying to figure out is how forgiving we all are going to be. J Stew is still not labeled a bust because he never had "opportunity" as a #1 back, even though many owners passed on Forte or Chris Johnson to get him. Same applies to Ingram, even though owners could've had AJG. Looks like the trend of owners being patient on RBs is coming on full force, which in all honesty is probably necessary in today's NFL

I grabbed Ingram...I was close to picking AJG too......errrrrr...thanks for bringing that up Fonts...I was just starting to sleep again

Same boat. Almost felt like you "had" to take Ingram, being he's a RB and you expect the solid numbers right away. I'm starting to second guess myself again.

You can't call him a bust, until he gets a chance.... it's not his fault he's being used the way he is. He's got Sproles/PT to split carries with until it's at least him and one other we won't know. IMO I think he's very undervalued right now and is a great buy low at a RB #3.
