Alfred Morris - Rookie Wall

Rookie, meet rookie wall. If you happened to be one of the lucky ones to stumble on Morris, I think now is a great time to sell him, even in dynasty, and especially if you are looking down the barrel of the trade deadline and competing this year. Time and time again, rookies wear down at this point in the season because they aren't used to playing preseason plus 16 games, and with the fluidity of RBs and Shanahan, it's entirely possible he could be useless next year. But hey, what do I know....

I have thought this as well. I think Evan Royster could def. be a factor soon. Most likely a return to a useless Shanahan backfield carousel.

this is the longest ive ever seen a shanny rb carry the load solo since clinton portis. theres something special about morris, at least in shanny's eyes. i'd hold him. he outproduces his value right now

I see him as a hold as well. His production has only dipped because he hasn't been getting as many carries, as the Redskins have been playing from behind. His ypc is remaining high, and he is going to be coming off a bye week. As always, though, everyone has a price, and it all depends on what you might be getting in return.

I believe so. That doesn't mean that I would sell them however.

Not sure Morris falls in the same company as TRich or Martin.

Now is not the time to sell Morris... Shanahan has gone on record to say that all players will be evaluated... Morris will bust his ass to keep that starting job.

He would have to, right? All are rookies that aren't used to this many games. I guess my point is why is no one talking about trading these guys for the same reasons? I think it's more that people are afraid of Shanny, as oppose to this rookie wall. FTR, I wouldn't be looking to trade any of them.

You'd just better hope he doesn't sustain any injury because Shanahan will cut bait on him faster than you can say Olandis Gary.

What happens when Helu fully recovers?

Morris has performed admirably this year, but I've never been a huge fan of the situation we've come to know as "Shannanigins". I believe at some point, this year or next, this becomes a complete mess, aka RBBC (Morris, Helu, Royster). Just my thoughts...

I would not burn a pick on him until i hit the 6th or 7th round. Far too much risk with him due to Shanahan. Last year Helu was all the buzz. What happens if Shanny like a new guy off the streets next year?

I don't know. Seems to me, Shanny wants to play the guys that give him the best chance to win. FF people created the buzz around those other guys and for whatever reason, Shanny didn't like them (whether it be underperforming, bad blocking, etc). Seems like Morris is the most stable back he's had in years. He does everything well. I have a hard time believing Shanny just likes RBBC, instead it just ended up that way b/c the performance of his Rb's

I think that apprehension about "Shanahanigans" is why you don't sell. If someone wants to give you a player that can match his production level, OK, but good look finding an owner who is willing to do that. Everyone got this guy off of waivers or drafted him very, very late. Just enjoy the ride and have a contingency plan for the future.
