Im a hockey player WTCM and I have to go Wayne Gretzky. He was a small player that dominated in the most difficult sport to play on the planet.

I'm not from Canada and I didn't/don't play hockey but I still like your pick WTCM. Wayne Gretzky is up there for me as well.

Totally get that and can't argue that vote. Gretz was my idol when I played but I consider him more of a mental mastermind rather than the best athlete. Gretzky knew where the puck would be two maybe three plays before it would land there. 99 played chess on ice. Gordie played through 5 decades and he was also apparently good at football too.

Yep...I cant discount a season of 92 goals and 120 assists by a guy that small in a game that difficult. I agree with what you said, he lived 3 seconds in the future on the ice but to dominate at that level you have to be a special athletic talent as well. He was the most graceful athlete I have ever seen and his shot was so hard and accurate. As a hardcore Islander fan at the time I hated him so much too, lol.

Bahahahahaha... It's okay, they had about 8 good years. I always digged Pat LaFontaine's style.

How about Lafontaines OT goal at like 3 AM vs the Capitals. Mike Bossy was the man and 4 straight cups...5 if not for The Great One.

Mike Bossy was a stud but that teams unsung hero was Brian Trottier and well Denis Potvin obviously. That game stood as one of the longest in history for close to a decade.
