LaMichael James

I'm posting this in redraft. Does anybody see LaMichael James actually blowing up toward the end of the season here? I just got a gut feeling I should pick him up. I followed up on this feeling with some research. First of all the talent is evident and he has obvious skills from college highlights, game breaking deep threat skills. You had Hunter go down and KWilliams. He could pull a Darren Sproles type roll for sure. I mentioned KWilliams cause he could be a possible slot help, and obviously return punts for leagues that counts. I know Harbaugh is deny he will get these opportunities, but I just see it as a logical fit. Simular to the Moreno starting out of nowhere, this could all be a smokescreen. When you look at the schedule outside this weekend the rush D they are facing are pretty decent. I find this to be an advantage because it should mean more passing situation where I feel James will step in. My main theory is Jacobs and Dixon are very simular in style and then on top of that Gore has his role, replacing Hunter speed and random 3rd down roll is more LJames style. Anybody on this thinking process for this year, or is this going to be another version of David Wilson for me?LOL

If Alex Smith was starting I would say that LMJ has minimal increased value. Because Kaep is now starting I think the argument could be made that LMJ puts up solid numbers. The two of them had great chemistry during the preseason coming form big play colleges and I don't see Harbaugh shying away from installing option plays for them. Kaep had that one long td. run in preseason off the option play with LMJ Especially against Chicago, you saw Harbaugh open up the offense and run plays you had never seen before with Smith behind center. LMJ was a very productive pass catcher for Oregon and on 3rd down I think that is where you are going to see LMJ. I think you will see a lot of Gore on early downs followed by pass action/screen/option plays with LMJ. Having said all of that, because he is not the lead back he is a high risk/high reward play. If him burning you isn't going to cost you a playoff position I would roll the dice. Otherwise, wait a week.

80% chance he pulls a Wilson. However Harbaugh does bring out the players strong points. Which for James would be his speed. The dude is blazing fast. He might very well get third downs, but I also see James lining up in the slot. Definity worth a pick up

I have Gore in redraft most likely heading to the playoffs barring catastrophe...L James is available...do I snatch him up or go Ingram instead?

we know what ingram brings but not LMJ think i would gamble with james!

Holy Crap, option plays. I didn't even think about it. Great point. Man Rashard Jennings is sitting there also, but on waivers. I might pick him up hold him till Sunday and dump him for LJames. I got Roeth off waivers yesterday, but I have Brees/Graham combo so if Brees goes down I'm screwed either way probably.

Yeah, unless your name is MHM you go with LMJ over Ingram :)

(Rotoworld) According to teammate Anthony Dixon, the 49ers have rookie RB LaMichael James "doing Percy Harvin stuff" on the scout team.

I think Rashad Jennings has far more value for this week only. If you think you can get Jennings now and then pick James up if MJD comes back then that's what I would do. I like James going forward, but Im not sold on what he's worth this season. Still like him over Ingram though.

Man Ingram just doesnt have it.. Thomas once again looked much better than ingram( who vultured that TD IMO) who looks like a slug out there!..

I don't see LMJ doing that much this year.. That said i picked him up for next year as hunter will not be ready
