Stafford vs cam

Stafford has had a down year in the td catogorey. His yards will still be close to 5k. Burleson, broyles, young, and pettigrew have all either been hurt or suspended most of the season.

Cam has come on nicely as of late. He doesn't have nearly as many rushin yards or tds this season. He also seems to be a bit of a diva.

Both could have new coaches/systems next year

Who do you prefer and why?

I would take Cam over Stafford. Pretty simple for me. Cam gives you the running dimension at the QB position.

Cam has a higher floor and a higher ceiling than Stafford.

Cam hasn't shown any tendencies to get injured.

Cam has the running game to overcome any perceived throwing concerns.

Cam is the goal line back

^is cam really the goal line back? I saw Tolbert taking a few of these the past few weeks. And rushing yards are down for cam.

He's not the sole goal line guy but he gets a higher % of those shots than Stafford. Cam's rushing td's are down from last year 14-7 but still 3 more than Stafford.

His rushing yards are not down: 2011 - 709 compared to 2012 - 647 through 15 games.

Cam has had a quiet year compared to his rookie year and the years RG3/Wilson/Luck have been having but from a fantasy standpoint he's been very good. 3rd in points overall in my leagues with 4pt QB td's, standard PPR scoring.

Cam over Stafford for me.

The one thing that Stafford will probably have over Cam, will be I expect the coaching staff to stay the same in Detroit. Jim Schwartz just signed a contract extension during the offseason, and the Lions owner has been notoriously patient. Just look at how long they let Millen stay.

Id much rather have Newton, especially if passing TDs are 4 points. Stafford is incapable of games like Cam can achieve. Like 287/2 passing and 116/1 rushing or 306/2 passing and 52/2 rushing.

All tds are 6 points even passing

Cam ... and it's not even close for me. Like JR said - his stat line is a difference maker

One sweet hit from a interior linebacker or a safety and this becomes a new conversation. Not hoping for it, but with his style of play, sometimes being a pocket passer might be the safer option.

If you watch Cam you see that he doesnt really take big hits. Unlike other mobile QBs hes bigger than most of the guys trying to hit him when he takes off.

Are you saying Cam is too savvy of being hit hard by a defender? Dude, the reason I say it is because the majority of Cams success falls on his ability to run for the score. To me, one day, one will catch up to him and the Panthers will have to reassess how they want him to play. Hope this style can hold up for the next decade, but its unlikely.

Cam is big enough to absorb more hits but at the same time is very elusive for his size. A safety hits RGIII and especially Vick that does damage...But not to 6'5" 250 lb Newton. The guy is the size of a DE playing QB and running like a gazelle.
