Both these guys are on the waiver wire in a contract Dynasty league I'm
in. I have Donald Butler on my practice squad, should I sign one or both
of these guys to cheap contracts instead of Butler? Along with Butler?
I have Willis, Weatherspoon, Woodyard & Miles Burris, I'll only have Willis this next year then he will be a cap casualty. I'll be cutting Barret Ruud and Demarcus Ware.
Scoring is 1.5 pts tackles, .8 pts assists, 3 pts sacks & forced
fumbles and 5 pts Int's. We start 3 LB's.
Thanks

I would rate them: Butler>Ellerbe>Brown. If Ray Lewis actually does retire, Ellerbe is the most likely person to take over his position. Now Ellerbe doesn't have the talent Ray Lewis has, but he should put up some solid numbers. I'm still not the biggest Zach Brown fan, but he does have talent to be a nice bye week filler. I would keep Butler and pickup Ellerbe.

I would definitely keep Butler. Like Defiant said, Ellerbe should take over Lewis' spot in the middle. I wouldn't expect monster numbers out of him, but they should be consistent. Brown is a flyer type of player to me. He has put up some good games and had some small games as well. He is the type player to keep if you have the room, but could probably find a comparable lb on waivers at some point next year.

Does the Ravens not draft Lewis replacement this year or is that ellerbe for the foreseen future?

Good question on Ellerbe, I've had the impression they have been grooming him to take the job... perhaps not. Brown had the knock of avoiding / not liking contact, it seems like that may not be the case but it is early. Thanks for the input guys, where I can sign him cheap I think I will sign Ellerbe and see what happens. I'll wait and see what happens in the offseason with Tennessee's LB's.
