Carson Palmer & Arizona receivers

Does this help Fitz get back to form, and Floyd to emerge?

According to Profootballtalk.com, there is "speculation in league circles" that the Cardinals are "waiting" for the Raiders to release Carson Palmer.

Very interesting. Although Palmer is so immobile at age 33 that he requires strong pass protection -- not something Arizona possesses, currently -- he still throws the football well enough downfield to fit Bruce Arians' vertical passing game. Palmer is a middle-of-the-road quarterback at this stage of his career, but he'd be a mammoth upgrade on last year's Skelton-Kolb-Lindley merry-go-round. It'd be a big plus for Larry Fitzgerald's 2013 fantasy outlook.

Been reading about this on twitter for a few days now, Have to say I'm in the minority here.. I think it's a horrible idea.

I think he would be a decent stop-gap player for Arizona, let them build up the rest of the team. It's a deep draft on both sides of the line, the O-line needs help and a couple of the D-linemen have been around for a while. There's a couple of RBs worth a gamble later on and maybe they can draft a project QB. Get a franchise QB in a year or two.

He sure helped get Denarius Moore to that next level last year :-?

A big upgrade? In 6 games kolb went 1169 8tds 3int... in 15games Palmer had 4000 22-14... a bit more yards but way more ints.. put him behind Arizona on line and he probably has even more ints.. not sure hes an upgrade, definitely not a big upgrade

Palmer also didnt have Larry Fitzgerald to throw the ball to...or anyone close to his caliber.

Palmer also wasn't getting hit after 1.5second every play

Is 1.5 seconds a factual number or one you just made up? Palmer is a much better QB than anything Arizona put out and wont hold the ball as long either. Pressure on a QB is a 2 way street with the O-line and QB. This can only help Larry Fitzgerald IMO.

Agreed. I say buy Fitz and Floyd while you can

IMO Arians didn't have a great OL to work with either in Pittsburgh or Indianapolis. I know he had Big Ben & Luck, who will handle that better than Palmer or Kolb. Arians does have some scheme advantages that might help out.

A number I made up... and sorry I'm not here to compare these guys just my opinion is Palmer is trash and is not the answer..

Going by his last few years in CIN and OAK, that could be the case.

I dont think hes a long term answer but hes better than anything they have had since Warner and will benefit Fitz more than what they have or a rookie. Especially when they can focus on OL and not QB in the draft this year too if this happens.

But they're trading up to 1.1 to take Barkley.... *cough*

would he be a slight upgrade from last year at the QB position - yes

would he make the ARZ WR's relevant again - no

would he end up on his back more than a $2.00 hooker - yes

would the sieve of an O line shorten his career by 8 to 10 games - yes

Not even Larry Fitzgerald? The guy is one of the best WRs of all time. It shouldnt take that much of an improvement to make a guy that good relevant again right? I mean its not Desean Jackson we are talking about here.

not saying Fits isn't awesome - it's the O-line and lack of time they give who ever is back there that is killing Fitz productivity
