IDP rankings

I updated the IDP rankings. Please give me you input, opinions or any info you have. Also let me know if you see any mistakes.

First, rankings are awesome, thank you so much and keep em coming! Just was curious as to if you do any commentary as to why players are positioned where they are....curious as to why so low of someone like say Von Miller and Aldon Smith after the season they just had etc. thanks!

nice job Bucky - A. Barnes NJY OLB could he make the list?

P. Chung might be higher up the list this year if he can stay healthy imo

Guys like Von Miller and Aldon Smith are dependent on big plays for fantasy purposes. They get a lot sacks but not a lot of tackles. So in my opinion, guys that get a high number of tackles also tend to get more forced fumbles, fumble recoveries and int's. So in my opinion, they are much more consistent fantasy players. Now if you play in a big play IDP leagues, where lets say sacks are worth 6-10 points, these types of guys will be ranked a lot higher.

Chung is actually one of the guys I had a hard time ranking. He is definitely a guy that can climb the rankings fast. I'm just not exactly sure how he will be used. As soon as I start seeing some more or getting more info he probably will be moving. There are a few other players that I am keeping an eye on as well. Right now, its tough to tell what everyone's situation will be.

Bucky the following is my scoring system....solo tackle is 1 point....sack/INT/FFumble is 3, TD is 6, no points for assisted tackles......my defensive players are in sig....would you drop aldon smith say for bobby wagner? he is the only one in the top 20 available on waivers for our draft this summer. i could probably get him for $1, and I am paying close to $2 for smith which would open alittle cap space for me....i also might pick up barron as he is young and i like him in the near future

I would. In your scoring system, Smith needs the sacks to score since he's not very high on tackles. I really like Wagner and see him improving on his production going forward. Also, get Barron. Love both of these moves.

Very nice Bucky! I know IDP's are ranked quite a bit based on personal preference but you did quite well bud. Love me some IDP much more than standard DST leagues.

i can also pick up calais campbell as a backup to JPP....should i give that a try as well? I try to limit my defensive players as I would much rather have the depth for my offensive players

CC has been one of the most underrated and consistent DL players over the past 3 seasons...this year with the switch in DEF scheme, he should continue to do really well as a DL #1 and awesome as your backup!

I agree that Campbell is underrated, however, how many DL do you have to start weekly? If only one, I would only roster one DL until JPP's bye week. DL's who don't produce sacks consistently have lower value in your scoring system IMO. I would rather take a chance on an offensive sleeper over rostering two DL.

yea we start 1 LB, 1DB, 1DL, and a defensive captain which can be any position, so if i can pickup wagner id be starting kuechly and wagner, burnett and JPP....do you think i should roster a second DB (picking up barron) behind burnett or do the same as DL? I want to save roster space for offensive players, but not sure if i shoulda picked up backup DL and DB...this is in reference to....

I would pick up Wagner in a heartbeat. He is going to be very solid and has a bright future. Same thing with Barron. He should only improve on what he did last year simply because of experience.

Doggie said it perfectly about Campbell. If you only start one DL I would only roster one until the bye week and take a flyer on an offensive player. Campbell is a very good DL though. He would be an excellent guy to add if you have to.

so your comfortable carrying a backup DB i would rarely use in barron for now....but not carrying campbell if i can fill a offensive roster spot first? i just dont want to pick up a backup defensive player if i shouldn't...i have usually only carried 1 player at each position except 2 at LB and added/dropped players for bye weeks and then dropped them.

With the team in your sig, I'd pick up Wagner and hold off on Barron. I don't know who you'd drop to pick up Barron.

I think Barron is gonna be a stud and I would gladly have him on my roster as a second DB. Don't forget, DB's get nicked up quite a bit so it's a position where having a back-up isn't a bad thing. Especially one the caliber of Barron.

His roster size has to be greater than his current 15 players. Right? 15 man rosters in an IDP league is crazy!
