Josh Gordon

With the Cleveland Plain Dealer recently coming out to say they expect a breakout season from Gordon, as well as Rotoworld continually comparing his game/movement skills to Andre Johnson, I'm all in on this kid. I know there is a place for the Percy Harvin's and T.Y. Hilton's of the world without a doubt, but I personally love big WR's. Gordon fits the bill at 6'4" and 220 lbs. The only thing holding him back some is Weeden no doubt, but I'll be targeting this youngster in all of my redrafts and especially my keeper style leagues. What are your thoughts about him?

I feel norv helps this offense for what it should be. Weeden can throw the deep ball and gordon made his name in college catching the deep ball. Norv wants to stretch the field.

Agreed dunlap13. I'm also a believer that the great talents will overcome their situations and become matchup proof. Unless you were working with the Cardinal's QB situation from last year. Even some situations aren't beatable. Haha.

I'm a skeptic of any Browns player not named Richardson. You hit the nail on the hammer with the main issue being Weeden. The kid is good, his situation sinks.

One thing I try to do is hit on middle and late round WR's. It's helped me be very successful in the history of my personal league. I start getting the feeling about guys about this time each year. Gordon is one of those guys for me. Don't know why. Just listening to the gut.

But I do respect your caution and reasoning Wutthecrapman. Very justified reason to be cautious. I won't go get Gordon in all my leagues for that very reason.

And I certainly won't make a ridiculous reach for him.

If Andy Dalton can get it to AJ Green, Weeden can get it to Gordon. I think people thought that because he was 28, he ought to just step into the league and be a vet. Not to mention that he was throwing mainly to Gordon, a rookie, and Little, who just recently learned how to catch. Richardson's ribs and 3.6/carry likely weren't helping much either.

Weeden has a cannon, and can get it downfield to Gordon, who knows how to get behind a defense. It might not be an ideal situation, but it's good enough to allow for a breakout, especially given the arrival of Norv and Chud. Now is definitely the time to peel Gordon away from anyone sleeping on him.

I went all in on this kid after he was drafted by Browns. More talented that K. Wright in college, and with limited time with the team last year he started coming on strong. Now with Norv in Cleveland, I feel very comfortable with Gordon.

Note: Weeden also stated that he feels comfortable throwing to Gordon even when covered 1 on 1.

This just fuels my intentions to load up on RB's early, and then be one of the last teams to draft a QB, and also load up on WR's like Gordon late. Unless of course there is a great player staring at me in my face like a Cam being undervalued. Good stuff.

Huh? Why would you not feel comfortable throwing to him if he's in single coverage. It's not like your going to see Gordon wide open... Talk to me when he can throw to him being doubled.

I think Gordon gets to that point next year if not late this year. Weeden may hold him back though.

I'm (unfortunately) a diehard Browns fan, and saw every pass Weeden threw last season, he's really not that bad, he throws some dumb picks, but he makes some beautiful throws as well...then again I've watched god-awful QB play for the last 13 years so that's probably not saying much...anyways, Norv is perfect for Weeden, exactly what he needs, if he doesn't get it done this year he's gone, they'll be no excuses...but my point is that Weeden is plenty good enough to allow Gordon to have a breakout year....the line is solid, TRich allows for a running threat, Little should improve, and if Cameron steps up like many think then he'll take pressure off Gordon as well...now I'm not some blind homer and saying Gordon will break out, just saying that even though Weeden is his QB he can still very well have a top 15 fantasy WR year or better...btw, I'm pretty positive Gordon is only 6'2"

So with all of this Gordon love I have 2 questions. 1. How is he any different then greg little??? 2. Who would you rather have to start weekly Gordon or britt??

Gordon doesn't drop the ball, Little can't hold on to it. Me personally, Gordon, but I know there is a lot of love around here for Britt. I think Britt is a cheaper buy.

1. Little is much slower, and has terrible hands, and not a good route runner ------ Gordon is opposite...both have good size though, basically only thing they have in common

2. Good question, right now I'd say Britt has more talent, but Gordon has more upside and doesn't have another 1st and 2nd round pick to compete with (Hunter/Wright)...in a dynasty I take Gordon b/c Britt's health, but if you're talking who to start weekly in 2013, well that's a great question...gun to my head...I'd choose Gordon b/c he's clear cut #1 and will have Norv scheming to get him the ball deep

How is Gordon similar to Greg Little?

I'd rather have Gordon. As athletically gifted as Britt is, he still looks like a sea lion trying to catch the ball sometimes. Gordon plucks it out of the air like its a pillow.

Ha, yeah he's close to Bernies size for sure...I swear when he was drafted he was listed at 6;2" or 6'3"....according to ESPN he's 6'3", and Rotoworld says he's 6'4"....either way I undersold him, all the better though

Keep in mind that Cameron will run deep seam routes to occupy the safety, and of course defenses will have to put more in the box to stop TRich. Add in the natural talent of Gordon - not only size and speed metrics, but also supreme natural hands - and remember that he was out of football for a year and did not join the team early due to the supplemental draft...now factor in year two and add Norv Turner's offense, and...BOOM!

I feel your pain.... lol I'm another life long Browns fan and I agree with you wholeheartedly. I have picked up Gordon on 5 of my Dynasty teams.
