  So I have a keeper league (0-4 keepers) that it turns out is only going to have 8 teams in the league this year.

  
  

  From what I've read 8 team leagues suck because everyone has decent enough players and depth doesn't matter so no one ever needs or wants to trade.

  
  

  Is there any good proven way to counter-act this issue? Maybe adjusting the rosters to like 3RB/3WR or something like that to require depth?

  
  

  The roster we used last year was QB 2RB 2WR TE RB/WR/TE K DEF.

  
  

  Would love any ideas to help make this a fun trade-happy league.

  We specifically have people in this group that are actually active in fantasy as last year we had a larger league but halfway through the season (even with money on the line) about 4-6 of the teams just stopped doing anything and never responded to trades.

  Just a thought, but I would alter the starting lineup to QB, RB, WR, TE and one flex....that would make each owner have to start the right players....also, I would eliminate free agency and only allow trades...

  I like this. Maybe add a waiver budget..but you know if you did this, trades would be pretty much useless because you wouldn't want anyone that wasnt top 3 at their postion. There would be sooooo many completely useless players

  I like troy's idea of eliminating in season waivers and only starting 1 per postition.

  
  

  Otherwise, you can greatly increase lineup size to the point where nobody has enough talent to start.  Something like 2QB/3RB/5WR/2TE/3 Flex

  This is definitely the way to go. You need to make the next few tiers of positional players matter more and this would help.

  TEAM 1 - Dynasty PPR, start 1 QB / 2 RB / 2 WR / 1 TE / 1 FX
  QB - Brees/Luck
  RB - TRich/Martin/Spiller/Tate
  WR - Megatron/Julio/Dez/Rueben/Cordarelle/Keenan
  TE - Graham/Cameron/Julius

  I would at least expand to 10 teams.  Anything smaller is not very appealing IMO.

  My Dynasty League was 8 teams for 2 years, 10 teams for 3 years, and moving up to 12 next year....
  
  In a dynasty league, you don't want to add owners just for the sake of adding owners....the goal is the longevity of your league...that is why it took my league so long to become a 12 teamer...I was very picky...
  
  As far as starting lineups; I feel everyone agrees that you need to do one of two extremes:
  
  Very small or Very big starting requirements....
  

  Non PPR Dynasty
  1 pt every 50 yds passing/20 yds rushing

  In a dynasty league, you don't want to add owners just for the sake of adding owners....the goal is the longevity of your league...that is why it took my league so long to become a 12 teamer...I was very picky...

  Exactly.... you expanded and it creates a more competitive league, right? Shouldn't be that hard to find 2 quality owners for an expansion.

  interesting take...I was actually thinking to add more starting spots to give the league more player depth...but I kinda like troys idea...either way 8 man leagues need something and changing the amount of players that are started is the easiest thing to change

  I get that you don't just want to add any two owners cause you want the league to last but on the flip side...people can only read so many threads that start out like:

  what should I do? I feel like I had a nice draft but am always looking to improve...lol
