Live Chat Enhanced Again

Ok, changed it back to No. 2. The new one looked great, but was adding slowness to the site, not gonna fly!

Sorry for the constant changes on the Live Chat Feature, but it was changed, I think enhanced, yet again. Reasoning:

1) First Chat Box: I went away from the first chat, which was on the bottom right corner of the site, because it was more geared for one-on-one PMing type chatting. While that was great for those that wanted to PM me, that wasn't really the point of the feature, as getting PMs all day is tough. It was hard to get stuff done :), and when worked through the PMs, some thought I was intentionally ignoring folks, and that wasn't the intention.

... so we moved to the "homepage only" chat box.

2) Homepage Chat Only: That was good in theory, as it got everyone into the "chat with everyone, and don't just try and PM smitty" mode, very few people were popping out the chat box so that they could navigate the entire site and still chat.

... so, now we have a new chat box.

3) New Live Chat: The chat is back in the lower right hand side of the site, but it's not a one-on-one PM type chat, it's more like No. 2, but just back in the right hand corner. The best part is it's on every non-forum page. It won't be on the forum for several reasons, some technical, some relating to keeping the forum what it is....

So, try it out! And, boy, on Sundays are we going to have a field day! Let's test it out during Sunday's preseason game (good idea Jknighton!).

Not a fan of it honestly...

It's not up when I'm on the forums(which is where I always am, and I understand somewhat why you don't have it there) So I'd have to have a 2nd tab or window open for the chat, which in that case, keep the popup.

From what I can see there's no list of who's online like before, Unless I'm missing it, thats a huge feature that needs to be there IMO..

IMO I'll take the old popup method back

Love the pop up chat. I can finally do other work or porn and chat football at the same time!

Hey you can't be right all the time right.. Lol

Well, it was more of not seeing issues until you test it for a day :) Sucks when that happens. Have to test things, though.

The Live Chat will likely be Seasonal, meaning August-DEC, as the usage during the off-season isn't enough to make it worth it or effective. People start not to trust that people are online if people aren't actively using it. So during the off-season it will shutdown (Something to look forward to each off-season) :)... but it will be quite busy on Sundays and during the season in general.

Never know until you try right....
