  I love Collie, he has sick hands and catches almost everything. This is a great sign by the 9ers.  Huge injury risk.  1 hit away from retirement.

  IMO this says nothing about Jenkins.  Collie isn't coming in to be the number 2 WR, hes coming in because 3 of their WR are on the mend, Crabtree, Manningham, and Williams.  If they were really looking for a number 2 they would have signed Brandon Lloyd.  I still think Jenkins has a chance to be a decent WR.

  Exactly. Rookies cannot be expected to fill such a vast void by an experienced vet. Doucet and Collie are there to help. Jenkins never played a snap so in my eyes he's just as much a rookie as Patton. Plus there's no harm in signing them
