Apparently in some sets, the ravens want to do this to help replace pittas (via roto) production..and I can hear the pierce fans going wild...
Bold Predictions:
June 21- Dez Bryant finishes as the #1 WR in 2013.

It's more beneficial to Rice than Pierce.

Yep.... seems to me that Rice will be moved out wide on passing plays, not running plays.

Both players benefit from this. They're showing they have very little choice in the matter.

How would pierce not benefit a lot? It's him being on the field more=more touches= more points? Yes?

Yes, it does benefit Pierce but it also means that Rice is still on the field when Pierce is on the field versus being on the sideline.

The Ravens could get 2500+ combined yards from Rice and Pierce this upcoming season.
If I'm an opposing D, I'm shutting down Torrey Smith, with my DBs. Have my DE head-hunt Flacco, and let everyone else take care of the backfield. I don't see 2500 combined at all. This team might be one of the weakest offences we see this year. Someone will need to breakout.

They combined for nearly 2200 last year and with both on the field more I don't think a 10% uptick in production is out of the question. I think Torrey Smith will break out and pull coverage away from the line. Having said that, one of Jones, Dobson, or Thompson will have to step up for this offense to progress. If opposing defenses are allowed to pin their ears back and rush Flacco, I agree with you Crap.
